I was really impressed with Ady Jeltema’s athleticism and creativity on Friday night — the 5’11” wing was the most explosive player on the floor and displayed impressive playmaking ability with the ball. She left defenders behind with sharp double moves, including a hesitation + crossover and a between + hesitation + crossover for finishes at the rim. When help side defense was in the paint, Jeltema had the touch to finish floaters over the top of looming shot-blockers. Ady did a good job to create for her teammates by setting hard screens too — making contact is a lost art these days. When her team needed it most in regulation, Jeltema went 3/3 from the line with 16 seconds left to push the game to OT.

can do on the varsity floor over the years and soon she will be preparing to take that step to the next level to compete with NAIA – Dordt out of Nebraska. Jeltema will bring her size, physicality, soft touch, and versatile ability to the college ranks in hopes of helping out Dordt in anyway she can. With Jeltema’s size, skill level, and smart play-style, I would think that she is going to see the floor early on in her career. She could be a natural 3 or 4 for her team, depending on what is asked of her. Every time we have mentioned MOC – Floyd Valley High School over the past 3 years, it usually has to do with Jeltema and how successful she is being. She does still have a senior year to go in the high school ranks but once that’s over, I’m sure she will be ready to ride with her collegiate program.

MOC – Floyd Valley won their opening round contest last night in a big victory. In the process, the top prospects for MOC really came to play. They left it all out on the floor and the end results reflected that. The main cause of production came from starting SF,

. Jeltema, is a Forward with solid size at 5’11, coordination, athletic ability, and a smart thought process. She finished this contest with 30 points and several other positive stats to stuff the stat sheet. There was just no answer for the size of MOC in this one. Their height, simple tactics, and determination was just too much for the opponent to handle. That’s why they ended up winning this contest and they are moving onto the next round.

is a silky shooter with good size. Her release is smooth and closeouts don’t phase her…which is why she made almost half of the threes she shot last season (49.1%, in case you were wondering). She is especially deadly on the catch and shoot off of the kickout but is more than capable of pulling up in transition or finishing off the dribble. She will absolutely be a shooter to watch for MOC-Floyd Valley this year.

and her play-style the past couple of months. During this evaluation, I’ve come to the conclusion that she is a collegiate level prospect, that could handle her own at the D2, D3, NAIA, and Juco level. Specifically, she has a ceiling that she could be very productive at the D2 level and with the right guidance, who knows. She could even go further than that. Jeltema has better than average size at 5’11, agile movement to pair along with it, a soft touch on the ball, and situational knowledge of the game. Every court she seems to step onto, she always stands out as one of the most well-rounded prospects competing. This Winter I’ll be in attendance to see Jeltema and her MOC-Floyd Valley team compete. If they keep on stacking from what they put together a year ago, they will be ready to see more success these next eight months and that’s very exciting to see unfold from an outside point-of-view.

A few weeks ago we spoke on how Ady Jeltema is picking up more and more offers from the next level and that trend continues. This past weekend, Jeltema took a visit to Wayne State and SMSU to check out each program’s facilities, as well as try on some of their gear and take some photos. It’s nice to see that the options that Jeltema has are growing. She is certainly good enough to play at those levels. She just needs to be put in the right situation with the correct guidance and she could shine before you know it. She should put together a really productive Junior season at MOC-Floyd Valley this upcoming Winter but we will have to see.

Aydson Jeltema is an interesting prospect to keep an eye out out of MOC-Floyd Valley High School this Winter. Jeltema puts up some respectable numbers throughout the high school season and her mixture of size/skill is impressive overall. She has proven time and time again that she knows how to score by the basket through contact or she can finesse her way for a bucket over the top of someone that might be smaller/weaker. Defensively, she is someone that others have to worry about if they beat their initial defender, as she can cover ground coming from the help side for a tip/deflection more times than not. All in all, Jeltema could help a college program or two out there in the right situation. She just needs to find a place that could use her position coming up and the rest will be history.

is a standout wherever she competes. Whether that is during the high school season with her MOC-Floyd Valley High School team or with her Iowa Swarm program during the AAU season. Whenever she is on the floor and playing within an offense that understands team basketball, she shines. As of most recent, Jeltema has put together a promising few months on the AAU scene, helping her receive a couple of collegiate offers this past week. The best way to describe her game would be consistent and versatile. She can do several different things asked of her on the hardwood and she is always going to give it her best effort. During the high school season she shines as one of the best on the floor, no matter the competition level, displaying that she can fit into a lot of different situations and still hold her own at a high rate. If she continues to put together an AAU season to remember and she takes that momentum with her into the Winter season, she is going to continue to put up impressive numbers.
