Cook had the burners on high to start the game, and her ability to get by the defender with an impressive first step made me dizzy as she either blew by them to score or used the step back to drop the jumper. Her “stop and pop” 3 in transition is a work of art plus she saw the floor

Cook has the right last name because once the heat is turned up, she begins to cook on the floor. She’s a “long and athletic guard” who uses her athleticism on both ends and her “on the ball” pressure was on full display at the event. She also did a good job controlling the tempo, as well as seeing the floor and she scored off the dribble a few times

Cook had the kitchen going as she not only did a good job running the team and getting her teammates involved, she also showed how smoothly she can set the defender up and drain the jumper. I enjoy seeing her show the stop and pop in transition but her maneuvering off the dribble with a variety of moves to attack and finish was on display

Cook was another playoff star that showed a phrase I don’t just throw out there, “a nightmare to defend” and here’s why. Her first step is very nice and that kept the defender guessing because she also did a good job creating her shot and knocking it down with a hand in her face. Factor in she wants the ball down the stretch in clutch situations and unlike my lost mail, she delivers. Her court vision as well as defense are also nice

Cook is one of those players that finds ways to put the ball into the basket so her first step can be devastating at times because she can take the defender off the dribble and finish with either hand, yes after contact. Her body control plays a part in that yet she’s strong and can create contact. She also scores around the basket; her court vision brings in buckets yet her jumper from outside, mid to long-range can change the momentum just like that

Cook was a “nightmare to defend” and it seemed like every time I would leave the game for another, my wraparound coverage had her hitting a shot to change the momentum or simply start a run. She not only dropped the long ball but her ability to “catch and shoot” while being defended was very nice but she also did a good job attacking the basket to score as well as seeing the floor
