About Alexus

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Learning more of the basics and working on building confidence in myself. Great hustler and rebounder. Determined to get better with every practice and game. A team player on and off the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I tend to be my worst critic and want to do well and make sure I make my coaches and teammates happy.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in one club for my school. The club I'm in is called umoja which is a black history club. I am in orchestra and play the violin. I have been playing since 4th grade. This year I have the honor of being part of my highschool unified basketball team. I love being able to help other students of all different abilities share my love of basketball and enjoy being part the team.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

My mother does a lot of work and events for the community and is a special ed teacher. I help with her events such as Juneteenth, Pride, Trunk or Treat, autism awareness fundraisers, family events, summer camps and more. I am a hard worker and people person.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I am one of 4 kids to a single mother. We all are into sports and activities so it can be hard financially. We miss out on some opportunities due to not having funds for them but we also get a chance to do a lot that others don't.

What type of college are you looking for?

HBCUs would be my top option.

When it comes to playing with a strong competitive spirit no one displayed that better than Hall did. She had the highest motor especially in her game vs Dreamers Elite. Alexus was all over the floor doing anything possible to give her team possessions. Hall plays with pure toughness whenever she’s on the court. It stands out even more with her activity on the boards. Alexus gave her team multiple second chance opportunities throughout the game. She was definitely one of our favorites to watch this weekend because of the energy she provides to her team every game.

Speaking of Jamesville-Dewitt, Alexus Hall Alexus Hall Alexus Hall 5'8" | SF/C Jamesville-DeWitt | 2029 NY also attends the school, which is an annual contender for the Section III title. Hall was on the varsity as a freshman and showed a lot of potential this weekend. Hall is a strong power forward with a polished drop-step move and spin move to the middle. She is a solid rebounder who can score off putbacks. Hall has a nice shooting touch around the painted area. When she needs to, Hall can put the ball on the floor and muscle her way past defenders to the basket.
