I’ll reiterate that Wilcox is one of the best ’28 guards in the state of WV. She continues to play at a high level. She is an athletic guard with good size. She continues to put in the work to get better in every aspect. This kid is going to be fun to follow through the years. It’s early to state, but Wilcox will be a next level athlete. One of the best athletes in the state of WV, regardless of class. She’s young, but she plays so much older! Wilcox is a part of a tough Tri-State Pride team. She led her high school team to a state championship, and I have no doubt that she won’t help lead her AAU program to big wins! She’s a good ball handler, and she does a great job playing under control. She plays off of two feet and she’s patient. She knows exactly when to attack, shoot, or pass. She’s a true student of the game. If I am a college coach, I am jumping on board now!

This freshman is extremely athletic! She was able to use her athleticism to her advantage numerous times throughout the game! She finished with 18 points while shooting 50% from behind the arc. She was 100% from the foul line, 6-6! Catholic was up by 3 points, when Ali threw up a long 3-point bomb at the buzzer to put her team up by 6 to start the 4th quarter. This play was a huge momentum shift for Charleston Catholic. Ali is a game changer!

Call it the “It Factor” or call it “Mamba Mentality” and I promise you that Ali Wilcox Ali Wilcox 5'6" | CG Charleston Catholic | 2028 State WV has it. The freshman guard will be a next level athlete! She’s an elite two-way player. She’s automatic from the foul line. She plays the game the right way. She is tenacious on both sides of the ball. Ali is a freshman that should be on all radars.

At this point, is there an athlete on this WV Thunder UA Rise squad that doesn’t have a great understanding of the game? Wilcox is another high IQ kid. Ali is a high energy athlete with a non-stop motor! She seems to do it all at a high level! She has the ability to go coast to coast whenever she wants. She attacks downhill great! One thing that I have noticed is that Wilcox gives all out effort at all times! She facilitates the offense well. She also plays off the ball extremely well! She can shoot the long ball with range! Get Ali on your radar, she has the grit, determination, & work ethic to put her in a different category!
