In the semifinals, she scored nearly 30 percent of her team’s points and grabbed close to 50 percent of the rebounds. Mercredi pulled up at the free-throw line with a sweet midrange jumper followed by a three from the top of the key. The junior forward consistently competed on the glass, altered shots, and gave her team second chance opportuniites. Mercredi delivered one of the most complete performances of the game, dominating the glass and impacting nearly every phase of play. The forward grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds while also contributing nine points and facilitating the offense with four assists. The forward also stepped behind the arc and calmly knocked down a top of the key three pointer. Mercredi’s length and defensive instincts were on display as she protected the rim and altered shots in the paint. She worked in sync with Hall in the middle and shut the middle down. Alyse made an immediate impact as a lefty, finishing an and-1 right off the opening tip. She showed good length and wingspan and used it effectively on both ends of the floor. She’s a long lefty that showed one of the best spin moves I’ve seen to get in the paint and score. She has a beautiful left-handed touch in the paint and a sweet jumper she displayed on a three pointer.
