Brandon Fisher | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Alysya can knock down the three ball even in tight windows and shows confidence with a quick, reliable release. She uses her body well to finish at the rim and plays through contact to create scoring opportunities inside. That physicality also helps her draw fouls on opponents by getting to the line and putting pressure on the defense. Alysya made an impact defensively as well by snagging some nice steals while pressing or after made baskets. The effort level stands out as she consistently brings energy and competes on both ends of the floor.

Alysya earns her spot on the Honorable Mention team as a defensive powerhouse who provided high-energy minutes when the Hornets needed them most. In the semifinal victory over Booker, she dominated on the glass and in the passing lanes, leading the team with nine rebounds and a game-high six steals. She carried that momentum into the state final against Bishop Kenny as their offensive spark plug. Smith showcased her offensive efficiency, shooting a perfect 4-of-5 from the field and 2-of-3 from three-point range. Her 11 points in the final were second on the team, proving she could impact the game at a high level on both ends of the floor against some of the state’s toughest competition.

knocked down a two that was smooth and totally in rhythm. The young guard had several quality looks and showed an ability to shoot off the catch or create her own shot – what ever the defense gives. In the 4A semifinals, Smith’s impact didn’t come from inside the rim, but everywhere around it. She ran the floor with speed and grace, displaying her athleticism. She was quick to loose balls (9 rebounds) and jumped the passing lanes (6 steals). She ignited the “fast break” and more importantly had a huge impact on the final outcome. One stat that proves Smith’s impact – her team was plus 23 when she was on the floor.

made great plays and looked like the best player on the floor, and then at times you could see the work in progress. Her speed was disruptive and her confidence on the floor was impressive to see. She created havoc on the court and shifted momentum with her quick hands and speed to chase down ball handlers from behind. Her team overcame a 10 point deficit largely because of Smith’s athleticism and court speed. Offensively, she had some nice aggressive moves to the rim. She didn’t score on all of them, but her ability to get in the paint and get quality looks was on display. The Sophomore guard’s performance was overall impressive. Her ability to take sideline correction and apply it on the court was as impressive as anything. She is a young and exciting player who will have a huge impact on a talented team that is 8- 10 deep. That along speaks of the trust they have in the young and exciting Sophomore guard.

is one of the most dynamic guards in her class. Her ability to play on or off the ball, handle the rock, and get to her spots to create her shot is impressive. Smith joins a talented Bishop Moore roster this season that looks destined to make a run to the 4A State Finals after falling to the eventual 4A state champions in the regional finals last year.
Smith brings the talent needed to help them get over the hump. Last season at Leesburg, she averaged 14.3 PPG, including a season-high 29-point performance against the Rural state champions, and recorded at least 19 games with double-digit scoring.
This guard brings a competitive edge and skill set that will be must-see all season long.

Alysya does a fantastic job of using her dribble to get downhill and create from there. Her passing and vision are high level in this class as she feeds the post in the half-court and advances the ball so effectively with the pass in transition. She rebounds it well from the guard position and can finish with strength and finesse with both hands. Offensively, she spaces the floor with her awareness, can hit the 3 ball, and can knock down the runner from the mid-range and in.

continues to prove she’s a true three-level scorer. Running the point guard position with poise, she consistently puts her team in scoring position every trip down the floor—whether it’s knocking down her smooth jumper, floating one off the dribble, or dropping dimes to teammates. Her court vision allows her to deliver the ball exactly where it needs to go. Averaging 14.1 PPG this season for a high-powered Leesburg squad—all as a freshman—her sharpshooting ability and physical presence make her a matchup problem every single game. The question now is: will she emerge as the top scorer at the Sophomore Showcase?

Alysya has one of the smoothest strokes in the Sunshine State. You can’t give her time and space or she’ll knock it down. She uses her body to create space for herself when getting to the rim, and has shown some solid body control on both ends of the floor. Her court vision, ability to create, and IQ when pushing the ball in transition will continue to push her up these rankings.
