Houston got a steal in Alivia McCorkle. McCorkle keeps on proving that she is the real deal. She is putting up huge numbers each contest she competes in and she seems to get better when she has ample amounts of pressure throughout a contest. When you are about to play Bettendorf, you might talk about a few players in general but more-so than anything else – you have to game plan for McCorckle. Which is never easy because she is very good off the dribble. Whenever you have someone who is automatic off the bounce at scoring the ball, things become really challenging for the defense. It’s the hardest things to guard within the game. My biggest question for McCorkle moving forward will be how she adapts to the D1 level as a main passer within their team’s system. If she can do that, she will continue to thrive once on campus.

can take them and that’s no disrespect to anyone else on their roster. McCorkle is just that good and that important to this program. She has been for 3.5 years now so that shouldn’t surprise anyone paying attention. Houston got a gamer in McCorkle. She has a firey edge, she is very talented on the skill side of things, she leads with communication and high intensity, and she is someone that has the skill that should carry her to see the floor at Houston, sooner rather than later. McCorkle has been holding serve this season and I’m sure that’s only going to get more intense as we move close to the end of the regular season.

Bettendorf High School has started off their season with a bang, winning both of their first two contests by 20+ when the final buzzer sounded. Their leader for one more go around is none other than

, the Houston WBB commit. McCorkle is making her mark per usual to start this season. She is scoring at a high rate while getting downhill to the bucket, she is defending her position with impressive intensity, and she is hitting others when they get open off of her creation. The Bulldogs should put together a respectable Winter under McCorkle’s leadership. If she plays to her fill capabilities, she will have a chance to lead the Bulldogs to the State Tournament come Playoff time. They just have to take it one game at a time.

is an electric player to watch compete. She brings fire and passion to the game when her team’s need it the most. She is very skilled as a scoring threat on the offensive side of the ball but she also stands out with some of the defensive efforts she makes. She is always one of the first on the floor for a loose ball and she is always willing to risk it for a big steal in an impactful moment. 105. 105 is the number of steals that McCorkle had in 22 games last Winter. Ideally she puts together an even more impressive Senior season over the next few months and she comes close to this number once again before she heads off to Houston to compete with the Cougars for college ball.

of Bettendorf High School. McCorkle can be a game changer. Someone that can take over in the blink of an eye on offense to help propel her team to victory. I am very curious how McCorkle will translate to the D1 level. All her skill is there, she is just needs to get to Houston with some hungry and the rest will work itself out. I am not sure of the Cougars future roster but I wouldn’t be shocked if we saw McCorkle early on in her career out on the hardwood, fighting for quality minutes in a respectable collegiate program.

‘s production to kick off the 2024 – 2025 high school season has been noteworthy from a statistical standpoint and from a general viewing standpoint. McCorkle has a calculated dribble, a willingness to attack the defense once she gets down hill, and a flame thrower from deep once she see’s one of her shots go in. She has been the leader that her Bettendorf High School team has needed so far and I think everyone is going to build off of that. I don’t expect McCorkle to commit until after her next AAU season but who knows. This is another individual with multiple D1 offers, so it’s really going to be what she wants at the end of the day. Something we can all respect from an outside point of view.

is looking in prime shape already. To start off this one the Bulldogs ran action for McCorkle to get to the bucket and she did just that to begin the scoring for her squad. From there, McCorkle stayed aggressive attacking the hoop but she didn’t have a ton of success…until the second half. That’s when she went crazy in the third quarter. Multiple times in a row she came down the floor and hit a deep three with a hand in her face from deep beyond the right wing. This outburst really sealed the game for the Bulldogs in a sense and it also helped McCorkle lead all scores with a game high 26 points on 9/20 shooting. This will be a big year for the Bulldogs and McCorkle is going to be a big contributor in that equation.

of Bettendorf High School is one of the Top PG’s throughout the state of Iowa, no matter of age-level or Class. McCorkle has been the leader of her Bettendorf Bulldogs program for two seasons now and in that time, she has put up some impressive numbers but this Winter it’s going to be different. Joining McCorkle will be Freshman standout,

and those two are going to take the state of Iowa by storm, showing everyone that’s watching how good they can really be together. With Guy coming into play and productive prospects from last year’s roster coming back, McCorkle is going to be open a lot more and she is going to be able to create several more opportunities as well. I’m expecting some eye-opening numbers from Alyvia as she moves into her Junior season. She has already proven that she is uber talented to everyone around the Midwest. Now it’s time for others around the Country from the D1 level to take notice and I think that happens this next six months. Especially with the added benefit that when any collegiate recruiter is coming in to scout, they can watch multiple D1 level prospects do their thing.

of Bettendorf High School is someone that is slept on throughout the state of Iowa as a prospect because she competes on the very edge of the state and during the AAU season, she plays on a national circuit with the Mac Irvin Fire program out of the city of Chicago but don’t be mistaken, McCorkle can really hoop and her D1 offers speak to that as she steps into her Junior season with the Bulldogs. To be able to crack this specific Top 15 Rankings for prospects throughout the state is impressive so she should be proud of herself. There are some prestigious names on this list above and her game definitely belongs in this conversation from the looks of her skill-set and production so far at the Varsity level.

comes into this Update, moving up two spots to #6 in the 2026 Class out of Iowa. McCorkle is a fantastic Point Guard, that has been a stud on the hardwood ever since she was a Freshman. She is someone that can get a whole lot of buckets in a small amount of time offensively, while also being a prospect that can make the others around her better because of her ability to create with the ball in her hands. Defensively, she is a scrappy go-getter, that can change the outcome of a contest with her ability to stay on the ball at an elite rate in both the half and full courts. This AAU season, McCorkle has picked up a few more D1 offers as she competes out of Chicago with her Mac Irvin Fire 17U Godfather squad but she won’t be satisfied. If she continues to compete throughout the month of July, like she has this Spring on the AAU floor, I’m sure she is going to field more college offers before she steps on the court for her Junior high school season with Bettendorf this Winter.
