Acoa beat Oneida 52-24 to advance to the Region Championship. Enjoy watching Amelia Pfeiffer Amelia Pfeiffer 6'2" | C Alcoa | 2024 State TN while you can: 12 points, 17 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 3 blocks in a Bill Russel-esque stat line. And fittingly, on a night in which she pulled 17 boards, she also pulled the 1,000th rebound of her career. She’s an old-school rim protecting rebounder thats a joy to watch.
Halle Bailey had 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists as she continues to impress of late running the show.
Gwen Carroll had 10 points in 12 minutes of play.
Maddy Stewart had 6 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds.
Well rounded team win!

Amelia Pfeiffer Amelia Pfeiffer 6'2" | C Alcoa | 2024 State TN continued her dominant play through the tournament, especially on the defensive end. While only scoring 6 points, she controlled the glass and protected the rim (12 rebounds and a block). She also used the gravity she drew from the GP defenders to make plays for others (4 assists). This win was a great way to cap off a great career, and now she gets to host another Region Tournament game as a 1 seed.

I didn’t see this game, but I spoke to people there, and I want to put out a state line that everyone should take note of: 12 points, 21 rebounds, 5 blocks. Kids and parents (and sometimes me) focus too much on points. Pfeiffer completely dominated a simply with superb rebounding, shot blocking, and defense in a Bill Russel-esque performance. Her future coaches at TTU aren’t looking at her 12 points and wishing for more…they are looking at her dominance on the defensive end and loving the player that’s on the way!

2nd Team All-Knoxville Post — Pfeiffer has led a really tough Alcoa team out to a nice start. The senior is doing all the big and little things it takes to win, and its showing up both in the win column and box score. She’s averaging 14 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 steals. She’s been a game changing force on both ends of the floor, and she seems to be getting better and better at the right time!

Pfeiffer is one of the best post players in the state! You know the inside presence that Alcoa has and you try to stop her, but you can’t. Amelia is averaging 13.5 points and 11 rebounds per game! The inside presence is also felt on the defensive side. Pfeiffer continues to alter shots and block shots! Keep your eyes on this team!

It will be interesting to see what type of year Pfeiffer puts together. Averaging 8 pts, 7 rebs, and a block aren’t eye popping numbers….but the kid is just a straight up hooper (hence the TN Tech commit). I expect her to have a huge season.

Alcoa standout Pfeiffer had a few really nice offers (ETSU, LaSalle, etc), but ultimately decided to stay close to home, and hopefully help build the TTU brand (with other local players
