Last year, Ishpeming senior Jenna Maki turned in a two-game performance that grabbed every college coach’s attention in the building—this year, it was Anna Ignatoski Anna Ignatoski 5'7" | PG West Catholic | 2025 State MI . Anna exploded for a game-high 29 points with six rebounds to lead West Catholic to a Cinderella comeback win that knocked off the defending State champs. Anna led the team in scoring again with 12 points vs. Tecumseh, including six rebounds. Her accurate step-back jumper and ability to finish full-speed layups with both hands were impressive. Anna triumphed over injuries and will be an excellent addition to a college program. She’s the first Maki Award winner–given to one under-the-radar prospect whose remarkable performance at the Breslin had college coaches asking “Who is this?” and “Where is she playing next year?”
