I first caught Martin in the fall, and most recently PGH Texas lead scout Simmie Colson saw her in the first quarter of this year (see previous evaluations here) and what is very obvious is that Martin is an offensive threat that will make waves in high school. Martin brings relentless pressure defensively, staying attached to ball handlers and consistently making offensive players uncomfortable. She shows advanced instincts for her age, quickly identifying openings in the defense and attacking them with confidence and control. Whether finishing through traffic or forcing defenders into fouls, her physicality and aggressiveness around the basket make her a tough matchup on both ends of the floor.

Martin gave me a glimpse of what was coming in 2024, and last year @playerrimidies had her “On The Rise” Tip Sheet see evaluations here, so seeing her apply “on the ball” heat and pick pockets with ease, did I mention she falls into that #sizedontmatter group, well it doesn’t because she can play. She scored off the dribble, handled the ball under pressure, and saw the floor

Martin plays tremendous on-ball defense and has a knack for anticipating plays and disrupting drives. A young player that already reads the floor well by recognizing lanes to attack and using her body control to finish strong or draw contact. Her ability to combine defensive intensity with assertive interior play sets her apart from most players her age.

Martin is an athletic guard who showed she could use her athleticism on both ends of the court. Her “on the ball” pressure during the “1 on 1” drill immediately caught my attention and it didn’t change when the “5 on 5” games started. She falls into that #sizedontmatter group I love to hashtag and she showed me she could play as she set the defender up to attack the basket, body control was nice and it helped her finish off balance
