You can question someones ability, you can question their motivates, but you can’t question production. If someone produces in any situation, against any opponent they have to face, it’s noteworthy. Someone that falls into this category is SF, Ashlyn Davis Ashlyn Davis 6'0" | SF Westwood | 2025 State IA of Westwood High School and United Sports Academy AAU. Davis is a 6’0 Forward, that plays bigger than her actual size. Offensively, she is a threat to score near the basket at any given moment. Defensively, she uses her size and athletic ability to her advantage, helping her stay in front of smaller opponents, while being able to “wall” up against anyone that may be a little bigger. All in all, Davis doesn’t get seen a ton but she has promise and she produces. From an outside point-of-view, that’s something everyone can respect.

You might not know about Ashlyn Davis Ashlyn Davis 6'0" | SF Westwood | 2025 State IA of Westwood High School but you should because she is a force to be reckoned with underneath the hoop and inside the middle of the lane on both sides of the basketball. The past few years, Davis has been a monster in the Scoring and Rebounding department because of her size, her ability to maneuver from block-to-block, and the support of her teammates. I’m haven’t heard or seen anything just yet about Davis’s recruitment but I’m sure she has some suitors for the next level in whatever sports she is competing in. It’ll be interesting to see how she fairs this Winter for her Senior season but if it’s anything like years past, she is going to be just fine.

The Westwood Rebels have had a series of dominating seasons these past couple of years and one of the big reasons for that is because of the play of their big-time prospect in the middle Ashlyn Davis Ashlyn Davis 6'0" | SF Westwood | 2025 State IA . Davis is a next level athlete. She has size, strength, and the knowledge of when to use those two things in tandem together. The Rebels run some great offense and some beautiful sets but those are all ran through Davis, underneath the basket. Everyone does a great job of setting up Davis and getting her the ball in opportune situations but if not, she is good enough to make something out of nothing herself. Her natural size is usually too much for opponents to deal with on a consistent basis and that’s something they always use to their advantage. This group is going to have one more year of returning a lot of their previous lineup. If they do the correct things and take care of business each night, I’m sure we are going to be speaking about this group at the State Tournament once again in 2025. We are a few months away from that but as long as everyone locks in for one common goal, it’s more than possible.

In the few times that I have had a chance to see Ashlyn Davis Ashlyn Davis 6'0" | SF Westwood | 2025 State IA play live, she was everything you would imagine. She was working hard in mid-post area, she was dominating the paint on either block, she was out-rebounding most others, and she was consistent on both sides of the floor. This type of play is exactly what Davis has been doing this winter for her Westwood Rebels team, helping lead them to a current record of 14-0 to kick off this 2023-2024 season. I’m not sure who or what team is going to be able to stop this group this winter but whoever it is, hats off to them. This Rebels team has shown time and time again that they are the real deal, with no one being as important to their success as Davis. We may be a few weeks away but I hope I can catch this team at the State Tournament. If they can get there, they could take it all the way.
