She’s capable of putting up big offensive numbers and is a definite asset on the defensive end. The Expo would be a place for her to put the state on notice.

set the tone defensively for Always 100 Michigan 17U with her relentless effort at The Clash on Sunday. She accelerates through the paint on her drives to draw fouls and if she misses a shot there’s a high chance she will secure the offensive rebound. Autumn finished strong off two with her left at the rim and stripped the ball away from the other team after a rebound. She stays in a balanced stance defensively and has exceptional quickness laterally to cut off ball handlers. There was a sequence where Autumn kept switching dribble hand-offs to guard the ball up top for at least 10 seconds without yielding a drive to the basket. She stole a pass and forced a foul on her way to the rim in transition, then knocked down important free throws. Autumn hit the deck to secure a loose ball in OT and scored an offensive rebound put back off two feet (MOI Sports Medicine).

Saturday was a great day for Pernell! I’ve always seen her excel as a slashing and shooting wing, but coaches challenged her to a different role for much of the day. Pernell was often asked to handle the ball and initiate the offense with a pass. She absolutely excelled in that role yesterday.

proved she is a serious prospect at the Top 250 Expo today. She showed the leadership you want by communicating with teammates on offense and displaying confidence with the ball in her hands. She gets downhill in a hurry and draws contact from defenders for free throws. Autumn does not give up on a play and chased down opponents multiple times to force a turnover in transition on the defensive end. Autumn created offense for herself and teammates: she threaded passes for assists and showed she can score at all three levels.

Pernell sat out last high school season due to transfer rules, but she made sure to make her mark during grassroots season. Pernell really could explode back on the high school scene with a talented Arbor Prep team this winter. She’s an athletic wing that can attack the rim in transition and in a half court set.

She’s a downhill forward that plays very well off contact. Pernell will get a lot of looks from coaches and scouts this high school season.
