The Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Top 250 was a collection of some the top talent in the state of Michigan. There were talented players at all positions, levels and skill sets. We’re going to give you some GameChangers at the event that turned the heads of coaches, scouts and fans that were at the event.
- This is NOT an all-inclusive list. Just some of what I managed to see.
Saturday was a great day for Pernell! I’ve always seen her excel as a slashing and shooting wing, but coaches challenged her to a different role for much of the day. Pernell was often asked to handle the ball and initiate the offense with a pass. She absolutely excelled in that role yesterday.
There were college coaches and coaches working the event that loved what they saw from Thelen at the Top 250. She was beyond steady with the ball and showed the ability to play both on and off the ball. Thelen displayed a very high basketball IQ and was one of the most efficient scorers at the event.
Highlights
Rickli sent a message loud and clear while she was in Grand Rapids. She didn’t just play well, she was flat out dominant in the paint. Rickli was slippery under the rim and seemed impossible to effectively box out. She showed multiple post moves and was a difference maker in the paint. College coaches had to love what they saw from her.
Highlights
Brooks-Foster showed off her game well at the Top 250 in Grand Rapids. She was easily one of the most prolific ball handlers in the gym. Brooks-Foster can go both ways with the ball and can catch a defender swaying and cross her up the other way. When she gets hot from beyond the arc she can swing the game momentum in a heartbeat.

Wolthuis made a huge impression on everyone that saw her play on Saturday. When you’re in the gym with some of the best in the state and you hear people yelling “Shooter!” every time you touch the ball, you’re doing something right. Wolthuis did more than just shoot. She utilized her positional height and strength to stay active on the glass and was able to attack off the bounce as easily as she buried shots from the outside.
Highlights
Titus once again put the state of Michigan on notice. Feel free to screenshot this, but Titus is one of the most overall improved players in the state in the last calendar year. She stood out in the Top 250 and in the David Barns Showcase this fall. Titus looks primed for a huge high school season with Jenison.
Highlights
Andrews was very impressive in Grand Rapids over the weekend. I’d venture to say that she was one of the top pure athletes in the gym. Her ease of movement and ability to change direction is just something that can’t be taught. Andrews showed the ability to handle the ball and create separation from her defender.
Truth be told, I had McClain highlighted as a player that I had to see play on Saturday. She did not disappoint. McClain was a mismatch all day long at the Top 250. She was a threat to score from everywhere on the floor. Iver the course of 6 possessions McClain picked up a put back bucket, a corner jumper and off a move with her back to the basket. She has the chance to be one of the best in the state this season in my opinion.
Smith was just so impressive at the event on Saturday. Her game is raw, but she was still dominant. She’s the type of player that if she wants a bucket, best of luck stopping her. Smith uses her strength to shrug off defenders on her way to the rim. She’s active on the glass and relentless when given a look under the rim.
Gibson sent a message with her play at the Top 250. She was a player that I’d never really had a chance to evaluate so I loved watching her ball out. Gibson can get aggressive with the dribble, get downhill and attack the defense. She’s creative with her handles and explosive going to the rim.
Wozniak impressed me early and often at the Top 250. She was an absolute playmaker when the ball was in her hands. Wozniak was an athletic shooter that could make a move with the ball and immediately flow into her jumper. I liked what she was able to do on the defensive end as well. Wozniak kept a strong base and had smooth defensive footwork.
Jones is a player that I was very anxious to see play. She was so slick with the ball and had top notch blow by speed. Jones brought a lot of energy and pace to the floor every time that she checked into the game. I really liked her ability to create offensively and the way that she defended with anticipation.

For those D1 prospects that think that the Top 250 isn’t for you, watch Mariah Sain Mariah Sain 5’9″ | CG Muskegon | 2026 State MI blow up this week and check the 10-20 emails I’m sending out this week. She has that ‘it’ factor. She plays like and carries herself like a big time prospect. Sain is a silky smooth athlete that can play at any pace. She’s an underrated passer. Actually, we all know she can get buckets, so it was really her court vision and passing that impressed me the most this weekend.
