Strong defender who can finish once she gets the ball going downhill. A ball handling guard who sometimes plays with the strength and feel of a forward. Uses body positioning more than pure speed and shows patience with the ball. Helps steady the team and plays with natural leadership instincts. Had a strong moment ripping the ball and going straight to the rim for a layup. Plays under control and understands how to impact the game without forcing action.

Garcia can flat out score the basketball. Going to the hoop or nailing a three she will get the job done. Ava works well getting to her spots around the three point line. She plays with good energy and never lets the energy dip. Look out for Ava in tomorrows semi-final matchup.

Ava has been one of my favorite watches this season. She’s the epitome of swiss army knife in my opinion. She can be your lead guard allowing her to make decisions on the ball and initiating offense, she can be off the ball and being ready to shoot off the catch with her sound shot prep mechanics which allows her enough time to read closeouts and attack according whether thats taking the shot or attacking the rim where she finishes at a pretty good clip. Defensively you won’t find too many players that compete as hard as she does. Scholarship player and those no doubt about it.

Ava is the force behind her Viators team, and she’ll be key to why the wins could stack up. Offensively, she’s noted for her ability to score at a high clip, but she’s also a threat from the passing standpoint as well as on the boards. This year, with the scouting report being directed at her again, I’m sure she’s been in the gym working on ways to increase her stamina as well as her versatility.

I don’t have a character count for everything that Ava does well. She has mastered skills seen at the college level. Watching her change speed in transition is my VERY favorite skill. Her unshakable confidence and demeanor is what separates her from the pack.

Ava’s talent increases by the day, and when you watch her play, you understand why. Her best attribute, in my opinion, is her adaptability. Whether it is being the primary offensive focus, or playing a role for the benefit of the possession/game. She can score from all over and has that high-energy defense that makes her a difficult matchup. A for sure stock riser in this class.

She seems to adapt seamlessly to various game situations. Her ball handling skills and sharp court vision helps her to effectively orchestrate plays, distribute the ball and pace the tempo of the game. Her ability to shoot from deep and penetrate the defense makes her a dual threat. Will play a big role on her high school team this year.
