Ava was tremendous at the Battle of Baltimore. She was a step ahead of everyone else on the court as she scored at will and set her teammates up for easy shots. She has the complete skill set of elite ball handling and passing and can make shots from anywhere. It was awesome to watch her dissect the defense and consistently make the right plays.

As said earlier, Sidwell Friends’ shot-making from their guards was super elite. Ava knocked down a handful of spot-up threes, and I loved what she did early in this game, putting the ball on the floor and hitting a few mid-range shots. Ava had some impressive dimes, and she and Autumn Fleary played off each other well. Ava did well both as a ball handler and passer, and she hit a few threes off of screens.

Ava was one of the holdovers from the mas exodus and is getting the opportunity to show that she can do more than get the ball to superstars. She is a high level star in her own right and showed in in several facets of her game. She shot the ball nicely from every range. She showed off subperb ball handling even when being pressured and she played excellent defense against some of the top players in the region. Yes, she still can drop off dimes to get her teammates in the flow, but she showed that she also deserves a seat at the table among the top players in the region.

Ava has been a solid floor general, distributing the ball to the right players in the right position to score. She’s one of the leagues assist leaders but also showed her scoring ability in a couple of games including a 20 point game against the Alabama Southern Starz

is a knockdown shooter who can play both guard positions. She plays the two a lot more, but she has the skill set to handle PG duties. She is a good passer and can put the ball on the floor and score. Her shooting is probably her best offensive skill, but she has become a very complete offensive player.

Ava lit it up against Jersey Gems, knocking down threes with consistency and
showing her full range of offensive skill. She excelled at finding teammates in tight
windows, especially pocket passes off the dribble. Her ability to create off the bounce and
keep defenses guessing makes her a dynamic threat every time she touches the ball.

Ava Yoon has been impressive the last two days, even when her shot hasn’t been falling. Ava plays both guard positions, but I think she’s more naturally a 1. Ava is smart and a good shooter. In the second half against Archbishop Wood, Ava started to get going. She had a few short jumpers and floaters off the backboard. She also had a tough drive to the rim.

Ava set the pace in the game scoring the first four points of the contest. She finished the game with nine points including a late three that was a backbreaker to the Bulldogs. The way that she handled being pressured didn’t seem to affect her one bit as she handled the ball at a high level. She made one pass into an empty space anticipating the open player before she even made her cut to the basket. Short story: I saw Ava in a game as a freshman, she got in and was trapped baseline and bounce passed between the two defenders, on another play ran down and dove for a loose ball, tapped it back before it went out of bounds to maitain the possession. Final play she lost the ball, the other player was going down for an easy layup. Ava chased the player down which surprised the player making her fumble the layup out of bounds. Afterwards, I saw her in the hall and said good game, “I didn’t do anything”, she replied with her head hangnig down. I told her every play she made and how each one affected the outcome of the game. I told her you did a lot, it’s just not on the score sheet.

Ava has really emerged in her roll as floor general on one of the nations top teams. She entered high school without the notoriety of many of the players in her class but did it the old fashioned way by working her butt off and getting better each year. She was a key part of the Quakers coming back in the game knocking down some big three’s down the stretch. She has gained confidence in her game looking to attack the pressure and breaking players down off the dribble.

Ava can get missed as we can get our eyes glued on the All-Americans that she’s on the floor with. Ava, however, is playing at a very high level. She handles pressure very well and is responsible for everything that happens offensively. She gets the ball to the right people at the right time and makes everyone look good. She can make plays on her own attacking the basket and will kill you from beyond the arc if you decide to play off of her.
