Among them, Schmuck may not generate the loudest highlights now or going forward, but she does an impressive number of things that will help her team win. The Sioux Valley guard, who played a key role down the stretch for her high school team this winter, already plays with a maturity that stands out for her age. She understands spacing, sees developing opportunities, and consistently makes the correct read. What I appreciated most was her steadiness. Avery never appeared hurried, even when pressure inevitably surfaced. She passed accurately, defended aggressively, and scored when opportunities presented themselves. Strong, fundamentally sound, and highly dependable, she’s the type of player every successful team needs. Others may grab headlines, but players like Schmuck often end up being the glue that holds everything together. (FYI, Schmuck plays for Hoop City , not Heiser as her profile says.
