It is only a matter of time before Azariah Lee shoots up the rankings on Prep Girls Hoops. Her game at the guard position was extremely intriguing at the TN Expo.

She had one move in the three-on-three competition where she made a great move from the left wing to the right side of the basket. She got there to score in only a couple of dribbles. In five-on-five, she then showed she can change the tempo of her game. She was throwing together quick dribble combinations and was constantly keeping her defender off balance with her stop-and-go speed.

On defense, she is a well-above-average on-ball defender and is always engaged.

An exciting prospect who is about to cause havoc on the basketball floor. A crafty ballhandler who can drop dimes and get buckets. She’s an aggressive ballplayer who is going to cause fits offensively, but when she is on the defensive end, she’s going to put the opponent in a seatbelt. AZ is a strong defender who has a knack for turning her defense into offense. Getting steals is what she is about, and that aggressive mindset leads to buckets going the other way. Quick hands and feet, this young lady is going to come in and play her part and excel at it. Look for GCA to go deep into postseason play, and this young lady will be an important piece of what they do. 

AZ is a long and athletic guard with high upside. She’s a lockdown perimeter defender who knows how to guard and keep the ball in front of her. She likes to attack the basket and has no problem finishing through contact. Also has a nice shooting touch from the outside. She’s a player that coaches should put on their radar soon rather than later.
