Expert Analysis
Danyle Bowers | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Brianna, the point guard for MBSA Hoyas , did an excellent job of running the show on the offensive end, keeping her team composed and in rhythm. Her speed and shiftiness made her difficult to contain, as she weaved through defenders and finished through contact in crowded lanes. She brought that same energy defensively, disrupting opponents by jumping passing lanes and stripping ball handlers. A couple of those takeaways turned into coast-to-coast scores, showcasing her ability to turn defense into offense quickly. Brianna also made her presence felt on the glass, crashing in to secure extra possessions, and she stretched the floor by knocking down shots from beyond the arc.

Brianna is a quick and shifty court general who looks ready to have a breakout freshman season for Durand. She was an effective facilitator for Team 5 at the Freshman Showcase. Brianna penetrated gaps with her fast dribbles and made smart decisions with the ball. She chased down the ball from behind and poked it out to create a steal. Brianna demonstrated excellent helpside awareness on defense and communicated actively with teammates. She shot the ball confidently from three-point range, including a volleyball line bomb. Brianna fired passes to open teammates, and her competitiveness energized the team.

Brianna was a Top Performer at the PGH Michigan State Tournament. Her explosive drives, tough finishes, confident three-point shooting, twitchy ball-handling, and all-out defense made her one of my favorite prospects to watch during the 15U games. I expect her to have a notable impact at Durand and would love to see her compete alongside elite guards at the Freshman Showcase.

Brianna was one of my favorite point guards to watch at our Michigan State Tournament, and she looks ready for a breakout freshman season at Durand. Brianna has explosive quickness that turns steals into fastbreak layups–she gets the edge and finishes downhill drives in top gear. She is a scrappy defender and makes excellent passes to teammates. Brianna fills the net with three-pointers and has shifty ball-handling moves. She earned All-Tournament Second Team honors, and I’m excited to see what she can do at the high school level.

Brianna was one of my favorite point guard prospects to watch on day one of our PGH Michigan State Tournament. She had me on the edge of my seat with her playmaking abilities for MBSA Hoyas 15U. Brianna was electric with her fast-paced drives, deep 3-point shots, and gritty toughness. Brianna had the ball on a string, changing directions with tight crossover dribbles the length of the floor, then scoring a full-speed layup. She buried a moonshot 3-pointer from the wing, finished a drop-step layup off the glass, and earned free throws after penetrating gaps with explosive drives downhill. Brianna converted free throws efficiently from the charity stripe and finished tough layups in traffic. She pressured the ball relentlessly on defense and turned steals into transition layups. Brianna made a great jump pass assist after the defense committed to her dribble and completely blew me away on Saturday.
