About Brooke

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a versatile, physical player with toughness and a strong work ethic. I play a defensive game, focused on getting in the passing lane or blocking the shot. I can shoot under the basket, beyond the arc or in between. I am capable of making the pass, or driving for the shot, depending on the defense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a disciplined mindset that helps me move past mistakes and keep moving every day. I am a student of the game, always studying the court when I'm on the bench, tape outside the game, and looking for the open teammate on the court. I am out-going, and tend to bring the team together on and off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Estochen plays the double bass in the East Ridge Symphony Orchestra (top orchestra program). She is also a member of the East Ridge Varsity Track Team as a mid-distance runner. Previously, Estochen has won state archery awards in Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin in both Indoor and Outdoor categories.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have learned to be vocal and speak up as a leader on my teams. Teammates look to me to bring energy on the court, on the bench and off the bench. I support the younger girls' basketball athletes in our programs by joining their practices and volunteering as an assistant coach. I also volunteer with youth groups at my church, school and with my family including Feed My Starving Children.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would like to continue playing basketball while studying to pursue a career in the medical field.
