When Sahara Wilson Sahara Wilson 6'3" | PF Lakeville North | 2028 State #42 Nation MN , the 3rd-best prospect in the Class of 2028, was promoted up the North Tartan hierarchy midway through the AAU season, it opened the door for Ecker to do more. She made the most of her opportunity. Amelia is big and strong and athletic, with the physical tools to dominate down low and the acquired tools to step outside and shoot. Yes, Ecker is still pretty raw but her upside is D1 high.

Ecker made her money at the Showcase by staying active on the boards and by showing an uncanny ability to be be able to make tough catches in traffic and finish around the rim. When the opportunity came, Ecker was able to put the ball on the deck and finish at the rim with either hand. As much as she likes playing on the perimeter, when a smaller defender would switch on to her, Amelia didn’t settle, she headed right to the block. Now whether the guards got her ball was one thing, but having the presence of mind to take advantage of the mismatch was impressive.
