Estochen has always been the type of player willing to dive on the floor for loose balls, hold a block-out just a second longer so a teammate can secure the rebound, or make the extra pass to keep the offense flowing. Add to that her new skill development, and you’ve got the makings of a complete player. Brooke has expanded her game with a fairly consistent outside shot and much-improved handles. She’s still that gritty competitor who will do whatever it takes to help her team win, but now that she’s added more tools to her bag – watch out!

We’ve been painting Brooke as a Swiss Army Knife. We just haven’t come up with anything better to describe one of the more versatile prospects in the class. One thing that separates Estochen from the pack is her willingness and desire to defend. Most players can learn how to do that, but few are passionate about it. Estochen has good size and strength, can be effective inside or out, and has the skills to score when that is the appropriate action to take. We think Brooke’s assets will translate well at the next level.

Swiss Army knife, that’s how I would categorize Estochen. She does a little bit of everything well. Very few players really enjoy defending, and she’s one of them. If there’s a loose ball in her vicinity, you better get on the floor quickly, because reaching with your hands won’t be enough. Chances are, she’s already on the ground securing that possession. At her size, Brooke is able to play inside/out and is a great interior passer. Estochen doesn’t look to score a ton, but can when she wants to. She shoots it well from outside and handles it well enough to get to the basket. Every coach needs a player like this on their squad.
