Brooklyn’s on court energy was apparent during full court action.

She became creative with the ball especially in the transition, as there were few defenders who took on the challenge of slowing her down. Once crossed half court, Byrd could get to the rim with long strides and three dribbles.

During the first game. She secured the defensive rebound, bolted out the paint, leaving one defender, and putting her opponent’s team in a slow rotation to cover. Byrd was able to slice and dice the team in a matter of six dribbles.

Brooklyn had good length, which she used effectively to play strong perimeter defense. Offensively, she attacked the basket well, using a variety of fakes and moves to create scoring opportunities inside. She showed the range to knock down the three, but was especially effective using the threat of her shot to attack off the pump fake. Brooklyn was also a solid rebounder and showed her athleticism with long, fluid drives to the basket.

Byrd anticipated a pass for a steal and quickly turned it into a fast-break layup. She was active in transition, whether pushing the ball herself or sprinting ahead of the play to become a scoring option. She also showed a nice touch around the basket, attacking inside and letting the ball roll off her fingertips to finish.

Bryd has size and versatility, using her frame effectively around the basket and nice touch on the perimeter. She is active on the glass, moves well without the ball, and hustles on both ends of the floor. As she prepares for her freshman season at Pallotti, she has the tools to contribute early with her ability to defend, rebound, and score in and out of the paint.

At 6-foot, Brooklyn has the size and frame to be a versatile frontcourt player while also possessing the shooting touch to stretch defenses from beyond the three point line. Her ability to step out and knock down perimeter shots gives her an added dimension that should continue to develop as she gains experience. She also contributes on the glass, using her size and instincts to rebound effectively on both ends of the floor.

Brooklyn has the tools to earn meaningful minutes as a freshman at Pallotti. As she continues to grow physically and refine her all around game, her combination of size, shooting ability, and rebounding should make her a valuable contributor and an intriguing prospect in the Class of 2030.

Brooklyn is a new addition to the Pallotti Panthers and looks poised to help fill some of the production lost after the graduation of two Division I players. She brings good size, quick feet, and a high motor on both ends of the floor. During DMV Live, Brooklyn showed exactly why she fits Pallotti’s system, consistently moving without the ball, crashing the glass, and making hustle plays that impact winning. She was especially effective on the defensive boards, finishing with 8 defensive rebounds, while turning second-chance opportunities into 8 put-backs. Her willingness to defend, rebound, and do the little things should make her a valuable piece for the Panthers this season.
