Brooklyn looked focus this weekend and is ready to create some opportunities for herself. The guard has a great skill set that will allow a coach to use her im multiple ways on offense and defense. An outstanding shooting guard that can get hot in a hurry from beyond the line changing the momentum in a hurry. Saturday she was impressive with the mid-range pull up jumper when ran off the line or attacking the gaps. The size and physical advantage she has over small shooting guard made if difficult to them to stop her on direct drives.
On defense the stance is low and long giving up no direct drives to the bucket. Understands defensive rotation in the press and half-court game. She seemed to just be sitting back waiting for the skip pass so she can jump it for the steal. A very impressive weekend as mentioned and I would expect more offers to come after Super 64 and next event.

Scarborough is a confident shooter as she hit back-to-back threes to spark a run and help close the gap in her team’s deficit. Defensively, she executed with discipline and high IQ—funneling her matchup into the corners to trap and force key turnovers. She attacks downhill with purpose to finish through contact instead of fading.

Athletic, taller guard who came alive in the second half to help have an answer to every push by the opposition. Dangerous cutter and off the ball mover. Hit from distance as well during her strong second half. Important defensive chess piece for Bixby, as her athleticism and plus wingspan gives her the ability to help in the interior while also able to cover quick guards. Joins Musick in giving the Lady Spartans much needed bite inside on defense, while remaining versatile on offense.

A great highlight video that paints the picture of a complete and athletic guard. Shows Smitherman covering lots of ground on defense for close out blocks, deflections and general outstanding instincts and tenacity. On offense, she’s looks a smart passer, which goes well with her ability to get easy paint touches on drives. Swiss army knife guard, who can fill up the stat sheet. Complete with an impact that goes beyond just the numbers.

Brooklynn is a sophomore for this Tigers team, but if she’s not starting, she will most definitely be getting some big time minutes. A player with this length and skillset just doesn’t come along that often. There’s a reason that this 10th grader already has a few offers and has taken Division-I visits. She is a positionless player who can do the work down low, but also has the handles to bring the ball up court. She has a beautiful jump shot and can be counted on from behind the arc. Her length helps her to finish consistently inside, as well. Scarborough really is the total package and I think she’ll have it all on display this season for BA.

Yesterday we talked about this showcase being absolutely loaded with 2026’s and how the class, as a whole, is loaded in the state of Oklahoma. Well, let’s not forget Brooklynn, a player who already holds multiple offers as a Sophomore. It is clear when you see her play that she is well-coached and trains hard. She doesn’t get sped up when she has the ball and makes good decisions. She pulls down the rebound (which she does a lot) and is immediately eyes up court looking to push it. She doesn’t need a guard to give it to. Brooklynn is basically positionless at that point. She may have been working in the paint to defend their post player and secure the rebound, but she can just as easily transition into bringing the ball up court and dishing sweet one-handed passes to the backdoor cutter. She is a modern basketball player, pure and simple, and she is another big-time prospect in the class of 2026!

I had seen Brooklynn play before, but it’s been a year and wow, has there been a lot of changes… for the better. She has gotten, taller, longer, and probably my favorite part, Smitherman has become more vocal. She is a talker. A coach on the floor. Telling others where they’re supposed to be on defense and offense. It is clear that she has a very high basketball IQ and the skills to go along with it. Her first step is explosive and she moves well with the ball. She showed the ability to score from multiple levels and with continued development, Brooklynn is going to be a big time college prospect!

Brooklyn Smitherland: cames off the bench but has the talen and ability to contribute immediately defensively and shooting from deep. She is a solid defender and had the assignment of guarding the other team’s best player. Has a lot of potential and I anticipate her will continue to grow as a player.
