A long armed guard, Datel makes the most of her natural gifts by flying around all over the court. She often helps out on the glass. Deflects passes and even blocks three pointer jumpers. On offense she’s finishes strongly and toughly, especially considering her skinny frame. Add in plus shooting from deep and she’s a true Swiss Army Knife guard. Datel is headed to NSU in Tahlequah, but before then will be filling up the stat sheet and bringing the intangibles for Bixby’s playoff push.

The senior continues to be on a tear for the Lady Spartans, as she helped them get off to a fast start in a big district win over Owasso. She had 12 in the first half of the blowout victory. Finishing with 16 points. The Lady Spartans are a team of guards, but they are a gritty group. And Datel is one of the best examples of that. She pulled in 9 boards against an Owasso team that on paper should’ve had a size advantage. She’s been on a tear since AAU season and there’s no signs of her letting up with 6 weeks left in her high school career.

Opened the scoring for Bixby, and it felt like she had ever score in the opening frame. Knocked down smooth triples. One stepback along with one clean catch and shoot. Always was moving off the ball, cutting with purpose or even getting on the offensive glass. Had tough scores in the second half at the rim. Including a buzzer beater layup to end the third. The incoming NSU Redhawk is clearly a gamer with a jack of all trades skillset.

A Northeastern State commit, who is set up for long term success. Datel is a key part of the waves of talented shooters that the Bixby Spartans can throw at the opposition. A hard worker without the ball. Gets to spots for her threes, while also playing the passing lanes and denying the ball on the defensive end. Already has one signature high school moment. Last December, she had a clutch game winning pull up three in a triple OT contest against Mustang. Could there be more clutch gene moments as Bixby chases another State Tournament appearance?

A long shooting guard that you must locate in transition and half court. Does not need much time to get the shot off . The feet and hands are ready just needing the basketball. When ran off the 3-point line she uses her height and jumping ability rise above the help defender finishing a the rim. Good handles in the open floor that is looking to kick the ball up the court with the pass.

A tall guard that can just flat out shoot the ball. As you watch her play you just the feeling that she has a great understanding of the game. A tireless worker on offense having to open most of the time with a no catch defense mindset. As mentioned, an excellent shooter on the catch or off the bounce. A player that you must defend over the top on all ball screens as she can shoot on top of the screen.
