A point guard’s best friend, Grimes regained both her stroke and confidence in June, knocking down timely three-pointers in key moments. While her perimeter shooting is her calling card, Grimes can also handle the ball, run the point in stretches, pull up from the midrange, and score in transition. Make no mistake—Grimes is a three-point shooter who can shoot it with the best of them.

Grimes showed off her excellent shooting ability not only from behind the three point line, but also in the midrange and when she got to the free throw line for Bishop Snyder. She is one of the best and most consistent shooters in North Florida and she proved in multiple games at the Wildcat Shootout. In one of the games in a different gym, Grimes scored 31 points for Coach Lando Turner and drew the interest from several college coaches. Bry has shown the ability to get to her spots in the midrange off the dribble and consistently make shots in the past, so it was very good to see her utilize that more in her game. She did a nice job using head fakes after making a few early shots from three to get her defender off the ground before taking 1-2 dribbles and walking into a comfortable shot from 10-12 feet.

She moved well without the ball, consistently presenting herself as a target and getting clean looks in rhythm. Arguably one of the top shooters in the building from beyond the arc, she stretched defenses and made a strong impact throughout the weekend. Her shooting ability forced defenses to extend, creating spacing opportunities for her team and opening up the floor offensively.

Grimes shoots the ball in great rhythm and when she gets hot, she can string up a few shots in a hurry. Grimes returned to the floor and showed rhythm as a perimeter shooter, connecting on 9 three-pointers across three games, including a 5-for-7 performance in one outing. She was effective both spotting up and stepping into shots within the flow of the offense, showing confidence in her release. Her shooting forced defenses to account for her spacing, which helped open driving lanes and post opportunities for teammates. In addition to her scoring, she contributed with a few defensive plays and rebounds, showing a willingness to stay engaged on both ends of the floor.

Grimes spaces the floor well and can shoot in rhythm off the catch or of the bounce. She excels in the mid-range game and behind the arc. She is confident and so versatile that she can knock down shots in the offensive sets and in transition.

Last season she connected on 53 threes out of 108 attempts. Grimes is heading into her Junior season still somewhat under the radar. She is a prospect who is likely to come from behind the shadows this season.
