The Lansing Catholic did everything that they could to make Cadence’s life difficult, and the kid still balled out. Getting dribble penetration on a 1-3-1 is not the easiest thing to do, but Cadence used speed and slick handles to weave into spots to draw fouls and set up her teammates. She is one of the highest ranked kids in the state and showed that the ranking was justified. She plays great defense as well.

Dykstra has been so good in the playoffs the last 2 years. She’s an elite guard talent that can take over a game in so many ways. She can go off and put 20 plus points as well as make sure that her teammates get the ball in scoring positions. Dykstra is incredibly efficient with the ball with very low turnover numbers.

Dykstra had me more than sold on her game with the way she played late season and in the playoffs last year. But she didn’t stop there. Dykstra has continued that play, and even enhanced it, leading her team to an undefeated regular season. She has the ability to lead her team to a state title. Dykstra is a true point guard in every sense of the word. She can handle the ball, find teammates in scoring position, as well as get buckets when her team needs them. Her best quality as a player may be her all around feel for the game and decision making.

We all saw what Dykstra could do in her team’s run to the state finals last season. She was absolutely terrific in the post season, putting up big numbers and simply making the team run like a well oiled machine. If she matches that play this year, she’ll be at the award ceremony.

Dykstra is one of the top veteran guards in the state. She’s a selfless player that’s willing to set her teammates up for success, knowing that when they do great, it will come back around. Dykstra uses her handles and ability to find lanes as a way to make plays. She can get to the rim in most instances, but if the defense rotates, she will find her teammates in scoring positions. Dykstra is truly underrated as a playmaking passer. She’s headed to Toledo after high school.

Dykstra is a tremendously talented lead guard. She’s one of the best decision makers in the state with the ball in her hands. Dykstra does a nice job controlling the pace and the feel of the game. She does it with her incredibly efficient handles and her high basketball IQ. Dykstra will be taking her talents to Toledo after high school.
