Sprague 5-foot-7 junior Carly Skogstad Carly Skogstad 5'7" | CG Sprague | 2026 State OR averaged 12.6 points per game at the Capitol City Classic. She’s a great ball-handler and uses a nice, low behind-the-back dribble with eyes up ready to make a play. She can quickly bring the ball up the court after a rebound or outlet pass. She can hit from the stop and pop at the top of the key and has the confidence to shoot a pull-up three-pointer in transition. She hit the catch-and-shoot from behind the arc. Her shooting form looks good. Skogstad is a playmaker with great vision and passing in the half-court, finding the open teammate under the hoop. Skogstad is a good defender and delivered an athletic block on a drive.

And finally another guard to round out the starting five, Carly Skogstad Carly Skogstad 5'7" | CG Sprague | 2026 State OR had herself a year in her second high school season. A proven leader already as the only non-senior to be a captain for Sprague last season, the sophomore earned first team all-Central Valley Conference and made a case to be the conference’s player of the year with her consistently elite level of play. 20-point games were a nightly occurrence with her abilities to shoot the lights out from the outside as well as get to the rim in a wide variety of ways. Skogstad is also a crafty defender and shows off her high IQ on this end of the floor as well as on the offensive end.

In a Central Valley Conference that is loaded with talent and experience, Carly Skogstad Carly Skogstad 5'7" | CG Sprague | 2026 State OR and Sprague struggled to get as many wins as they would have liked to, but she put up an incredible sophomore campaign in the meantime, and the future looks very bright for her and the Olympians. Skogstad shows very little weakness in any aspect of her game: she can shoot from deep, she can score at the rim, she runs the point well, she is a crafty defender, she rebounds, she finds her teammates well, and she was already a team captain as a sophomore, demonstrating her leadership abilities. She will likely be up for some individual recognition in the conference at the end of the season. And with more experience, she will become even more dangerous. She closed out the season with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals against North Salem; and 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals against McNary, which were typical numbers of hers all season.
