Piles is one of those players who gives a hunnid on both ends, and watching her play “bigger than she is” over the years has been a joy because she will not be outworked
FEEDBACK “undersized yet gets the job done inside the paint,” which she has shown since I first saw her, yet here’s another “gutsy, takes charges, dives for loose balls” but her sacrificing her body is also nothing new. She scored off the dribble and dropped the short jumper

Piles has been showing me potential for quite some time and it seems every time I get a chance to catch her in action, she adds something else to her game. During the July viewing period, I caught her at both the Super 64 as well as the Neville Jones Invitational, and showing me she could take over games down the stretch scoring from outside as well as off the dribble was a plus but she also came up big with momentum changers, like defensive stops, blocked shots or playing the passing lane see evaluation here

Piles gave me a glimpse a week before at the Super 64 yet I caught her a couple of full games at the NJI and she showed me even more. I guess her “on the ball” defense surprised me with her versatility because she also defended inside the paint as well as in the set yet her baseline-to-baseline pressure had me smiling as she showed her athleticism. She also read the floor and did something I love seeing, “play the passing lane” and dropped it from outside

Piles closed it out for me and I wanted to see her on the court progression after initially catching her at a couple of seasons ago at the PGH Freshman Showcase. Okay, she’s another player who plays taller than she is and her being heady and comprehending the simple things, like getting positioning to rebound against taller players, is one of those little things that turn out to be big. She still has the “hands and footwork” thing down to score inside yet she hit a huge shot down the stretch off the dribble over a taller defenders outstretched arms. Her court vision was nice, so was her defense and that upside has me smiling
