Carrie is a big time prospect who just keeps getting better and better as time goes by. A double-double machine, she has begun racking up the offers from schools like Labette CC and Fort Scott CC. A tough inside-out player, Carrie plays strong on offense and defense and will not be pushed around in the paint, where she does her best work. Her footwork has gotten better and better and so has her defense. She can stretch the floor by stepping out and shooting and is a very coachable prospect. I have coaches all the time looking for senior forwards, well, here you go. You’re welcome.

Carrie is an absolutely lights out shooter and all day people were leaving her open. I know in those “thrown together team” situations, sometimes people keep getting lost in the shuffle, but how many coaches have to yell “watch number 83” in one day? She was lighting it up from deep. On the day, she shot somewhere around 70% from behind the arc and that wasn’t all. McClellan also has great size and very good handles. She goes hard to the rim and finished consistently inside. She is starting to really pick up some college coaching attention and if you don’t get onboard, you’re going to regret missing out. Don’t be the one left on the sideline yelling at your team to guard her while she rains threes on your team!

Carrie was one of the first players to reach out and I am very glad that she did. I can’t wait to catch an East Central game this season and get a look at that shooting stroke in person. Watching her video on Hudl, you can see that she has a very quick shot with a nice high release and she is gonna hold that hand up there, for sure. She’s a shooter. That’s what we… I mean, they… I mean, shooters do. Carrie can also drive to the basket with pretty good handles and is a very strong finisher. I’d like to see more defense in her video packages, but it looks like she uses her 5’9″ frame very well and is pretty strong. She’s a 2024, so coaches, make sure you get out there and see her, too!
