Surprisingly, it’s not even always seniors, either. We’ve got great prospects scattered all across the Sooner State and these five are no exception. All should play in college somewhere. Some are already committed and some should be getting even more offers, ASAP!
JQ Berry from Texhoma High out in the panhandle has already committed to play basketball and run track at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. Now, she has surpassed the 1,000 point mark as of mid-January. A consistent all-tournament performer and team leader, JQ is a long, strong, and very athletic player who can score it in myriad ways. She defends well on and off ball and would be a big time prospect if for no other reason than that she has a motor that doesn’t quit. The Cowgirls are already a very good team and with JQ’s arrival, they are going to be can’t miss viewing.
Still uncommitted, as far as I know, Charley recently hit the 1,000 point mark against Prague. She is a forward with outstanding size. She is built to play inside and out and can score it any way that you like. She does a great job battling on the boards and rim protecting. She also has no problems handling the ball, dishing out sweet assists, and hitting three pointers when needed. A wonderfully well-rounded player, as you can see from the video of this recent double-double, Charley Coleman Charley Coleman 5’10” | PF Stroud | 2024 State OK should’ve been on your recruiting radar a long time ago. If you miss out on this big time prospect, you’re going to regret it. Trust me.
I look back through my notes at the couple of times I’ve seen Kylie in person and they all say pretty similar things. “Quick.” “Handles.” “Unafraid.” As you can see from this video from her 1,000 point game, Kylie gets downhill to the rim in a hurry. She sees an opening or weakness in the defense and exploits it quickly. She finishes strong, through contact, and hits her free throws. On top of that, she is involved in every single play for her team. Not to mention that she is only a junior and just hit 1,000 points. She is a big time prospect, you guys. For real.
Highlights
Carrie is a big time prospect who just keeps getting better and better as time goes by. A double-double machine, she has begun racking up the offers from schools like Labette CC and Fort Scott CC. A tough inside-out player, Carrie plays strong on offense and defense and will not be pushed around in the paint, where she does her best work. Her footwork has gotten better and better and so has her defense. She can stretch the floor by stepping out and shooting and is a very coachable prospect. I have coaches all the time looking for senior forwards, well, here you go. You’re welcome.
Since the first time I saw Skylar play, I’ve been telling people that she is a Division-I prospect and that reflects in her ranking within the junior class at No. 10 overall. She is a phenomenal player who seriously does it all. She is an absolute dawg on defense and does not give anyone a chance to breath out there. On top of that, her midrange is deadly, which opens up so many other great things about her game. She has the option to drive past nervous defenders or she can dish the ball where she has shown very good vision. Clearly she can score, with 1,000 points in her junior season. The sky is the limit for Skylar… pun intended.
