, who’s a force to be reckoned with in the class of 2029.
Caygan plays both ends of the court extremely well. She’s an excellent on-ball defender, who’s active hands lead to a lot of turnovers. She seems unbothered by any defensive assignment, even if it’s a player who’s a few inches taller than her.
And on offense, Caygan has tremendous ball-handling skills. Her footwork is off the charts, and she has an uncanny knack for shaking a defender. An absolute whirlwind with the ball in her hands, she can take it coast-to-coast, or pull up on a 3-pointer when she needs to.
She’s also very unselfish, and is willing to make the extra pass when she spots on open teammate.
Caygan tells me that she’s worked a lot on her court vision, and has focused on improving her left-handed abilities.

Caygan, a guard for Mac Irvin Fire, had a great Saturday at the MI College Tour Northwood, showcasing her quickness and ability to create off the dribble. She’s an athletic, shifty player who gets downhill in a hurry, putting constant pressure on defenders with her burst and tight handle. In one sequence, she showed her playmaking by delivering a nice drive-and-kick, then came right back the next possession and took it herself, finishing after putting her defender in a spin cycle. With a quick first step and strong ball control, she was tough to contain all day. On the defensive end, she added to her impact by coming up with multiple steals, capping off a strong all-around performance.

The length, confidence, and versatility were key in Jones having a strong freshman season. Her skill set isn’t flashy or over the top. It’s simple, effective, and there’s rarely any hesitation when she decides to go get a bucket. Outside of her scoring ability, she also shows good passing IQ as a playmaker. There’s a strong foundation there for her to develop into one of the top guards in this class. Strong upside.

Jones has ultra light feet, loves to take the rock to the rim and has zero fear going against the trees inside! Knows how to get to the line. She plays with great pace, can get out and run the ball in transition, and loves to pick pockets and score off her defense! (Below with ball)
