Claire enters the 2030 class as one of the most recognizable names not only in Florida but across the country. The lefty guard has already collected offers from Iowa, Indiana, Purdue, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, Arizona, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Colorado, Baylor, Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, and USF before entering her Freshman campaign. Her game draws comparisons to Kelsey Plum because of her ability to score at a high volume while remaining efficient. Playing up in the 16U division on the 3SSB circuit, Claire has consistently proven she can produce against older competition with how shifty she is and her flawless footwork. She’s a three-level scorer who can create her own shot, make plays with the ball in her hands, and put pressure on defenses every time she steps on the floor. With her combination of production, skill, and national attention, she has already established herself as one of the early favorites to emerge as the top player in Florida’s 2030 class.

Watching Claire Stoops play and then seeing that she was listed as a 2030 was totally mind blowing. Claire is a gifted athlete and basketball player. You can tell that she has put so much work into her game at such an early age. She can do things now on the court and score the ball at a level that most cannot do. Stoops s going to be fun to watch for many years to come.

Stoops put on quite an offensive show displaying her unique ability to score the ball a variety of ways at such a young age. The smooth southpaw was on fire from behind the three point line for stretches in a great game versus WV Thunder 16U UAA NC that needed overtime to determine the outcome. She has a very quick release, elevates high off the ground, and has great form and follow through on her shot. Stoops was also excellent running the offense and distributing the ball to her very talented teammates, Finley Sherrill and Stevi Harmon Stevi Harmon 6'0" | SG IMG Academy | 2028 State FL in the game I watched in particular. Stoops scored on the break, knocked down mid-range jumpers, and shot the ball well from the free throw line. Overall, she played a fantastic game against an excellent opponent in front of a large number of high level division one coaches. Stoops was rewarded for efforts with multiple offers from Power Four schools after the event concluded. Claire came in with a big reputation having already spent time with junior national team program. She plays with a maturity beyond her years and has the game to go with it and she hasn’t even started high school yet. Stoops is on a trajectory to be a household name in a few years with continued development at the current pace.
