Even while trailing the vast majority of this game, Watts stayed composed to allow this Regis Jesuit group to crawl back into this game of late. The guard was at the forefront of this group’s defensive pressure on the perimeter, spearheading their devastating run in the 4th quarter, which got them the necessary momentum to pull off a victory. Her ability to ramp up the pressure at the point of attack got those Legend guards out of their flow, rushing decisions a bit more often, leading to costly turnovers. A pure lead guard, Watts consistently created scoring opportunities in the halfcourt, most often setting up perimeter shooters with wide open looks off a kick out.

Regis Jesuit #7 vs Eaglecrest #26
Watts is troublesome for opposing perimeter defenders due to her craft with the ball and quickness getting downhill. Paired with her elite defensive instincts, Regis Jesuit has an excellent point of attack defender at their arsenal. Her well rounded tool box on the offensive end makes this group so malleable against a wide variety of defensive lineups.

Coryn is one of the biggest stock risers we’ve had over the last year and a half. It started last season when she became more than just a spot-up shooter. She started to shift her game into more of a combo guard which allows her to run the offense from different spots and maker her more of a threat to score in various ways. As she continued into summer play she became more confident in attacking the rim both by getting downhill and in transition or simply by blowing past her defender in the high court. All these things will have a significant impact on how teams defend her this season.

Watts did well stabilizing the half court offense, creating opportunities on drives while maintaining her impact through impactful defense. A particularly quick guard, both laterally and with her first step, she is a thorn in the side of so many opponents. Getting opportunities from drives on multiple occasions both with the left and right hand in traffic, she is composed under tight pressure. Also showing value on catch and shoot threes, she understands how much space is necessary to get the shot off quickly. Defensively, the guard mitigated plenty of driving opportunities, holding opponents outside the perimeter.

Coryn Watts Coryn Watts 5'8" | CG Regis Jesuit | 2024 State CO may have had the best year of her career last season from an offensive and defensive standpoint. Defensively, she was more active in passing lanes, getting deflections and making it harder for guards to get to the rim. Which you would say boosted her offensive game a lot. Offensively we already know she’s a lights-out shooter with a quick release, that doesn’t need much room to get her shot off. Her shooting ability isn’t what was most impressive about her though, it was more her willingness to get downhill and attack the basket which makes her an impossible cover.

I’m extremely high on Coryn as a prospect. Really like her game and play-style. Though I still need to see some more premier guards in the state, I can determine that there can’t be many guards as complete as Watts. She put in 14.0 ppg. and was 65 of 183 from three for 36%. You can see her game below. Legit prospect with a big season coming. You can count on her ranking in the 2024 class improving going forward.
