Cydney used her athleticism well on the defensive end, particularly when reading the passing lanes. She anticipated passes and put herself in position to create turnovers rather than simply reacting after the ball arrived. One of her best sequences came when she jumped a passing lane for a steal, immediately took the ball coast-to-coast, and finished through contact for an and-one. Cydney’s ability to turn a defensive play into points at the other end showed how quickly she can impact a possession.

Cydney, a guard for West Michigan Drive , played an important role in helping her 14U team win the 15U division championship at the Premier Showcase. The long, athletic guard consistently put pressure on opposing defenses by attacking the basket with confidence and embracing contact on her way to the rim. She was active on the glass, securing rebounds at both ends of the floor, and made her presence felt defensively with her ability to anticipate passes and disrupt the opposition by jumping passing lanes. Cydney’s toughness, length, and relentless motor allowed her to impact the game in a variety of ways throughout the weekend.

Cydney has a silky smooth shot from the perimeter, moves well off the ball, uses fancy footwork in the paint to avoid defenders, scores through contact, and has great touch at the rim. Cydney’s length and shifty handles create lanes to attack. She works hard to make a difference on the boards and uses her athleticism to turn up the heat on defense. She’s a talented incoming freshman ready to burst onto the high school scene.
