Delaney, a guard for Mystics, turned in a strong performance at the MI College Tour II at Wayne State, showing her ability to impact the game in multiple areas. She consistently knocked down shots from beyond the arc, providing a reliable scoring threat from the perimeter. Delaney also showed her feel for the game as a passer, making smart decisions with the ball. One of her standout plays came when she chased down an offensive rebound and finished with a smooth reverse layup. Defensively, she stayed active and used her quickness to disrupt opponents, making her presence felt on both ends of the floor.

Delaney was a preseason pick of mine to have a breakout sophomore campaign for Midland Dow, and that’s exactly what she did for the Chargers. Delaney had a great opening AAU weekend with Mystics 16U S40 Metz. She was dialed in from downtown, ripping the nets with her three-point accuracy from multiple spots, including a deep triple from the wing. Delaney changed hands comfortably to create space off the dribble, distributed the ball effectively to open teammates, and moved her feet quickly to apply pressure on the defensive end.

Delaney has become a key member of the Dow backcourt. She turned in an impressive all-around effort at the LBI Holiday Classic. Delaney was active on the glass, putting her body on the line to secure rebounds and chasing after the ball with determination. She buried multiple triples with textbook mechanics and worked hard on the defensive end. Delaney is a dual-threat scorer. She ripped the ball quickly off the catch and accelerated for a drive-by layup. Delaney led the Chargers with 12 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Delaney has a high reputation for her three-point shooting; it’s in the family, but her complete performance at the Northwood Elite Camp separated her on the court. Delaney attacked with a burst off the dribble to beat her defender, transferred quickly to her left hand, and finished the layup. She showed excellent helpside awareness and rotated over in a hurry to block a layup attempt–had multiple blocks throughout the day. Delaney is a sophomore at Midland Dow who has the potential for an all-conference caliber season in the SVL.

Delaney is only a freshman, but she looked ready to make an immediate impact for Dow at the Mid-Michigan Mega Scrimmage today. Delaney made a smart read in transition by catching a pass on the wing and immediately sweeping the ball for a layup off the dribble. She shoots with sound mechanics and buried multiple triples off the catch. Delaney gives the Chargers another dangerous perimeter shooter this winter.
