Dunbar is extremely young, having graduated only one Senior last year and having 6 different middle schoolers logging varsity minutes in at least half of the games last year. The key to immediate success this season could be the emergence of

. Lavey is capable of a double-double every night out. She’ll need to improve her three point shooting to reach the next level in her game but Ellie is a player to keep an eye out for in the 11th region next season.

Ellie averaged 9.7 points and led Dunbar in rebounding with 8.5 boards per game before her season was cut short due to injury. A lengthy and versatile wing, she rebounds at a high level, can knock down shots from the perimeter, and attack off the bounce. Defensively, Ellie does a great job timing blocks and has the ability to guard both the post and the perimeter. Once fully healthy, she’ll be a major piece to watch.

Ellie impacts the game in a variety of ways. Offensively, she is a scoring threat at the perimeter as well as the interior. She can score with her back to the basket and has solid footwork and post moves on the low block. Ellie can shoot it from the outside and put the ball on the deck to get to the rim or put up a floater in the lane. Defensively, she is a phenomenal shot blocker that made the opposing team think twice before bringing it inside. I also like her ability to get steals and force turnovers. (Featured Image)

was outstanding during the live period weekend, and showed that she is a complete player with the total package. She rebounded the ball at a high level, knocked down 3-pointers, forced turnovers, and made great passes out of the double team to open shooters. Ellie’s best overall performance was against Wisconsin Academy, she protected the rim with all her might and finished the game with 9 blocks, which is extremely impressive in my opinion. She had 22 total blocks throughout the tournament as well.
