Elliot is a very promising underclassman in the Northwest program. She had length, versatility, physical strength, and the intangibles that immediately stood out to me as a coach at Bell’s Best Open Run. One of the things I told the girls at practice was that the little things matter. Every time I spoke to the group, whether it was drills, breakdowns, post-game, etc. Elliot was nodding her head, keeping eye contact, and fully engaged. She pushed herself to the max from start to finish in drills and the games. On defense, Elliot walled up with excellent technique to force misses and was extremely active as a rebounder. She scored multiple catch-and-finishes off two feet, kept defenders on their heels by staring down the rim on the perimeter, and went up strong around the basket. Elliot worked for position inside to give teammates a target in the post and used a great shot fake to get her defender to leave her feet. Elliot stripped the ball away on defense and showed the ability to attack as a face-up driver, play with her back to the basket, or step outside to shoot from the perimeter.

Elliot contributed on both ends of the court for Team 8 at the Freshman Showcase. She’s a competitor who works hard and doesn’t take plays off. Elliot shot the ball with confidence from the perimeter and made a smart extra pass to an open teammate in transition. She used a shot fake to freeze her defender, drove by, and dropped in a tough floater off the glass. Elliot crashed the boards on both ends and is going to be a great addition to the Jackson Northwest basketball program.

Elliot is a Swiss army knife on the court, and she consistently stood out as one of the most productive players on The Naturals during the travel season. She gets downhill with a burst and finishes strong layups off two feet. Elliot has a relentless hustle, sound footwork, and is a determined rebounder. She’s an exciting prospect to watch, and we’d love to see her again at the Freshman Showcase.

Elliot had an eye-popping Cagers Invitational, and she turned in an encore performance at our Michigan State Tournament. Elliot was dominant in the post, had excellent footwork, and soft hands catching passes. She showed great awareness of where to be and finished shots efficiently around the basket. Elliot was a leading scorer for The Naturals 14U squad in their final game and had a great first session of the travel season.
