The Waukee Warriors surprised a lot of people this past Winter season because of their production. They compete against some of the toughest teams throughout the States and for the most part, they held their own and showed that they are going to be a program on the up and up moving forward. The Warriors have several players with collegiate level talent, one of their most important being Point Guard, Emilie Sorensen Emilie Sorensen 5'9" | SG Waukee | 2025 State IA . Sorensen has speed, a swift handle, and the ability to score or distribute at a high rate. Defensively, she has quick hands and an act for getting several tips/deflections throughout a ball game. After her high school career, Sorensen is going to be take her talents to Illinois to join up with the Northern Illinois Huskies in attempts of putting together a rememberable college career. Something that is more then possible. I have a feeling that she is going to thrive in the Huskers fast paced offense. We will have to wait and see but I’m sure she wants to have a fantastic Senior season, before any of this unfolds.

Speaking about game-mangers or high level producers and we can’t leave out Emilie Sorensen Emilie Sorensen 5'9" | SG Waukee | 2025 State IA of Waukee High School. Sorensen is a D1 commit and she has been leading from the front this winter to help out her team. There are a bunch of different things that Sorensen does well on the floor but this season, she has been the best as one of her team’s “it” factors. In some of their most important games, Sorensen shows up and she shows up big. Score, rebounding, defending, you name it. The bottom line is that she shows up. Don’t get me wrong, basketball is obviously a team sport but without the play of Sorensen, this group would be in a different situation right now. All in all, the Warriors are a team to beat in their Class and they have proven that this season against some of the best competition throughout the state. If someone gets matched up against this group and doesn’t prepare properly, it’s going to be a long night. They have too many good players that they can kill you in a number of different ways.

Emilie Sorensen Emilie Sorensen 5'9" | SG Waukee | 2025 State IA only moves up one spot in this rankings update from #36 to #35 but I think this high school season is going to change that. This winter Sorensen is going to have a chance to really make her presence known on the floor for her Waukee high school team. She will have a chance to have the ball in her hands more on offense while showing what she can do. I expect a lot out of Sorensen. An athlete who works hard on every single possession while producing on almost each play when she touches the ball, in one way or another. There are a ton impressive girls throughout Iowa high school basketball right now, and Emilie is in that conversation. I’m excited to see her make the most out of all opportunities she gets in the future.
