Evelyn took charge of her team’s offense at times, directing traffic up top. She is quick, unpredictable, and smart. She can manipulate the defense with her eyes — one of the marks of a great playmaker. Off the ball, she was constantly moving and cutting hard. She also has the strength an touch to score inside with either hand; she had a pivoting step-through finish that I noted. On defense, she picked her defender’s pocket to start a fast break that led to a three-pointer. Wilk is not worried about being flashy, but she sees and thinks the game at an advanced level.

Wilk’s offensive game is built around patience, decision-making, and efficiency. She shoots the ball comfortably from the perimeter both off the catch and while creating space herself, forcing defenders to stay attached at all times. She reads defensive positioning well and understands how to attack openings once defenders shift out of place. Her use of subtle fakes, footwork, and timing allows her to create driving angles without relying solely on speed. Combined with her smart ball security and feel within offensive actions, she consistently keeps the offense flowing smoothly.

Wilk is a very solid guard who can score from different levels. She’s got a smooth outside shot she can hit off the catch or off the dribble. She can pick out gaps to attack and makes smart choices with the ball. Reads screens well and sets up her drives with her eyes and jabs to get an even better advantage.

Wilk shows a really nice feel for space, whether it’s feeling space with her back to the hoop and making quick moves, or seeing where the help defense is positioned and attacking from the perimeter. She is very controlled and showcases some great footwork to get the angle on her defender and get to the basket.

Evelyn is a top player in the class easily a top guard. She has carved out a solid role for Lake Washington, being an unselfish player. She has a smooth deep shot and a quick release so defenders need to stay on their toes. She plays with high energy, crashing the boards hard and being a top rebounding guard in the class.

Evelyn plays at a high level for being just a freshman and will have a ton of talent around her to learn from and get even better. Wilk has great handles with solid change of pace, keeping defenders guessing what she’ll do next. She knocks down shots with ease and can pull-up from mid-range and sink shots from there too.

Evelyn played fantastic defense all day long, using her strength to not let ball handlers get past her easy. Wilk has a high motor on both ends of the court, communicating well for her team and being a leader all day. She hit shots consistently, being a top deep shooter from the showcase. Wilk will fill a nice role on a solid Lake Washington team.
