Jill Dunn | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
If you are in need of a point guard who can get paint touches every time she touches the ball look no further. Gia’s speed, quickness and high IQ lands her in the paint and then her creativity puts points on the scoreboard. Sometimes it is her being shifty and scoring through defenders and other times it is her passing out to shooters after she draws the defender. Wilson is a 94-foot
/ defender that will harass you every step of the way.

A guard that does all of the little things to make her team better. She can find ways to score by knocking down perimeter shots, but one of her other biggest ways to score is by turning her defense into offense. She is super quick with her hands and feet which leads to major problems for the opposing teams. Gia has a high IQ as a floor general and limits her turnovers.

showed off her range shooting the ball from deep. She knew when to plan her cuts around the perimeter finding the opening and shooting off the pass. She was playing tough on ball defense making it difficult for her opponents to find their teammates for the pass. She had a full court fast break using a spin move and making it through contact.

Gia has been playing with a broken bone in her left hand since the second game of the season if this tells you how tough this young lady is. She loves the game and nothing is going to slow her down. Small in stature, but has a heart of gold. She will do whatever is asked of her on the court. She loves to play defense for 94 feet and push the ball up the court to lead the break for her talented teammates. A huge part of Queens Grant success so far.

hit some nice shots showing off her range shooting the ball and getting inside for the scoop and score. She’s quick on defense being able to flash right in front of a pass and grab the steal or deflect it before it reaches its destination. She was aggressive attacking the basket not backing down from anyone on her way to the rim.

Following a previous stint at the high school level with 4A Cuthbertson, this past summer it was revealed that Wilson will sport the uniform of Jackson Day School. The Mariners first had a girls basketball team in 2018-19 and put together its winningest season in its short history in 2023-24. Jackson Day finished with a 26-7 record and a 7-3 mark in its conference. Wilson will surely be a worthwhile addition to the Mariners. A key reason as to why is her ability to attack the basket. Defensively, she understands when the correct moment is to poke the ball from an opposing ball carrier and Wilson also excels in the passing game as well.
