Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
A combo guard who can score, has vision, rebounds, and hustles for steals/deflections. Always moving without the ball keeping good spacing on offense. Nice mid range game, consistent outside, but best off the drive. On defense, my speed allows me to cover my person, but always be able to help when needed.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I've often heard that I am mentally tough. I have played for a diverse group of coaches and can quickly adapt to what is asked. I've learned that constructive criticism is going to make me better so I seek that. I like to have fun and build a positive culture with my teammates and coaches. My teachers would say that I don't do drama and choose to be friends with everyone.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am part of a small community so we have lots of opportunities for involvement. I've served as a VBS leader for 7 years. I have held offices in FCCLA, 4-H, and our school leadership council. I participate in FFA, KAYS, Yellow Ribbon, FCA and youth group.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Moving to starting point guard as a freshman made me step up quickly. As a sophomore we had only 1 senior and 1 junior on Varsity so a lot was asked of me. I've learned that the team culture will make or break a season and do my best to create a team first mentality from the locker room, to the bench energy, to the floor.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Our school has faced a lot of turnover. I've played for a different coach every year.
I respect our current coach because he will not run the score up on teams that struggle. As a result, some games I'd only play 2 or 3 quarters and my stats don't compare well with others that get more playing time. I hope my game can show what I offer when the numbers may not.
What type of college are you looking for?
I'm not opposed to moving out of state if it's the right fit, but I'd prefer to stay in Kansas. I'm 4th generation on our family ranch and want to continue to be a part of that. I take academics seriously so I want a school that challenges me and provides a solid education. The chemistry of a team is something I value and would look for a positive culture.
