Halle Vice Halle Vice 5'11" | SG Pleasant Valley | 2023 State IA ended her high school career like anyone would dream of. An undefeated regular and post season, conference champions, and most importantly the 5A state champions. Vice is a dominate talent at the high school level equipped with great size. She is the type of player that you can put in really any spot except the 1 on a high school floor and she will be ultra-successful. During her teams state run she showed great versatility on both sides of the floor. She scored from all three levels, rebounded with the biggest players on the floor while held her own, and made some big plays in some even bigger moments to help the Spartans bring home their first women’s basketball state championship. Looking at her future I could see Vice coming in and seeing the floor her freshman year depending how her pre-season goes. With her size and ability there could definitely be some spot minutes as her freshman year goes on for the Golden Eagles. No matter what, whenever she gets her chance she is sure to make the most of it and make a positive impact for her program.

Halle Vice Halle Vice 5'11" | SG Pleasant Valley | 2023 State IA is going to take her talents to the University of Marquette next year with the hopes of making an instant impact her freshman year on the team, a goal that is going to be tough but is more then do-able due to her size and skill set. During this state run and more-so the entire season Vice did a little bit of everything for her Spartans. She used her length advantage in every possible moment she could with the ability to step back and hit a jumper from deep. This was on full display on the way to their schools first state title in history. She was fantastic in basketball skill while being a great leader for the girls around her. In big games it’s easy for people to get rattled but Vice did a great job of pulling things together when the moments became really big. Without Vice and her play this group doesn’t have a year like they did and doesn’t win this championship, she wasn’t the only reason they won by any means but they definitely needed her to bring this thing home.

Halle Vice Halle Vice 5'11" | SG Pleasant Valley | 2023 State IA showed off why she is going to Marquette and such a big problem on the basketball court on Thursday afternoon in her team’s semi-final game. She played with aggression, poise, and most importantly she became better as the game went on. The Pleasant Valley Spartans play an extended 2-3 zone on defense and Vice is a major key to that zone. She plays a bottom wing that covers either the near-side corner, wing, or either post position. A job that is tough but she makes it look easy with her length, speed and basketball IQ. On the offensive end Vice showed her entire bag throughout the game. She scored at all three levels and had two momentum changing AND-1 baskets in transition in the 4th that put her team over the edge to win the game. Vice and the #1 ranked Spartans will face their toughest challenge of the year in the championship against the #2 ranked Johnston Dragons. A matchup that is sure to be a show for the ages.

Halle Vice Halle Vice 5'11" | SG Pleasant Valley | 2023 State IA has had another standout year after solidifying her future and committing to Marquette in the offseason. She has been a playmaker, leader, and consistent player in every facet of the game this season to help her team stay undefeated thus far. Vice is frankly a matchup problem at this level. The games that were the closest for them this season in score were against other team with long and athletic stars so until someone can matchup with her 1 on 1 and slow her down, it’s going to be a hard matchup to face. The Spartans get a lot of production from a lot of different places, this is going to have to be factored in for other teams when they put together a defense game-plan. If you overplay on Halle Vice Halle Vice 5'11" | SG Pleasant Valley | 2023 State IA then they have other options that can beat you on the offensive end of the floor. I expect Halle to keep up her production during the quarter-finals and semi’s, with it becoming more difficult in the championship, if they can get there.

Halle Vice Halle Vice 5'11" | SG Pleasant Valley | 2023 State IA put on a show Friday night in Pleasant Valleys big 80-9 win over Davenport West on the road. Vice finished the game with 26 points, going 9/9 from the field including 3/3 from behind the three point line and 5/8 from the free throw stripe. Not much more can be said about Vice that I haven’t already mentioned. She is a play-maker, game changer, program defining talent who will finish out this year as one of the best forward in the state while moving on to play for Marquette University next season. Before that happens though she is going to look to push this squad one last time into the playoffs, hoping to make it to a state championship. After seeing this team function against every type of competition I do believing they will make it to the state playoff, barring the matchup they receive in their regional. They attack with a balance from all positions and they aren’t selfish. They have star power at both guard and big spots on the floor and don’t rush much of anything. When you combined all this, as long as they can limit  their opponents offense than they will have a shot at it in the long run.

Halle Vice Halle Vice 5'11" | SG Pleasant Valley | 2023 State IA has begun her senior year by putting her team in a great position going into break. Vice and her Pleasant Valley high school team have started out this season with a 8-0 overall record and hope to keep that same energy coming back out of break, where they will have to face some of their tougher competition of the season coming up. Vice has been the stand out leader for this team on the inside while doing a great job of keeping her teammates in the right mindset to go out and compete each night. She is a crafty and physical combo forward who will really move to the guard position in college. She has such a high guard skillset while standing at a good height and length. This season so far she has been getting it done on both ends and really showing how she can be a difference maker on the defensive side of the ball, altering or blocking shots near the hoop. After this high school season is over she will get ready to go and play for the University of Marquette, where she will look to expand her game and be a big time college player over her next four seasons.

Halle Vice Halle Vice 5'11" | SG Pleasant Valley | 2023 State IA recorded 26 points in their win over Linn-Mar high school this past weekend. Vice did it all for her team with the help of shooting guard Reagan Pagniano Reagan Pagniano 5'7" | PG Pleasant Valley | 2025 State IA to propel Pleasant Valley to a convincing 58-26 win over the Lions. This season has been a good start for the Marquette women’s basketball commit as their leader. She is averaging over 17 PPG and 4 APG for the Spartans as they start this year 5-0 overall, 4-0 in conference. Looking forward I expect for her to end her season averaging around 20 point a game as she also contributes on the defensive end and in other ways for her team. As we get closer to the play-offs and the lights get brighter, the best will step up and make a difference, one of those being Vice. It’ll be fun to see.
