One of the more promising young forward prospects in Oklahoma, Michalec is making up for lost time after an injury hampered her freshman high school campaign. Looks decisive and strong on the block. Quickly hitting her moves and finishing strongly. The lack of wasted movement prevents defensive help from coming and showcases how she plays with an edge. One of the top candidates for a breakout sophomore campaign, especially as she keeps working hard to improve her confidence and low block scoring.

Michalec had a quieter freshman season than some of the other top prospects. But there’s still a lot to like about her potential. She’s over 6 foot tall with a long wingspan and is an eager rebounder. Because of those traits, she had flashes during LCS’s State Championship run. Getting on the glass in the quarterfinals and semifinals, and even blocking shots. There’s real potential for the youngster to be a dominating paint presence. Which should start this spring and summer at the 15U national level.

Michalec might as well carry around her own bottle of windex. Because she cleans the glass with the best of them. Some of it comes to great positioning. And other times it’s her fantastic tenacity and the mindset of “every rebound is mine”. Her height, her impressive strength and her understanding of positioning is also apparent with the way she posts up on the block. Where she has a soft touch as a finisher. Looks ready to hit the ground running at the varsity level.

Possibly one of the top incoming freshmen in the state. Strong summer performance at a high level has put this young lady on the list of many colleges. Great size and a soft touch in the paint contributed to a high shooting percentage. Transferred to powerhouse Lincoln Christian this past summer.

Another incoming LCS freshman, Michalec is a tenacious athlete. Rebounded at a high level in 15U AAU play and overall impressed with the physicality she played with. LCS is replacing forward production, so the hustling and battling mentality of the incoming freshman could be her ticket to early minutes and production.

Michalec is going to hit the high school level with a strong understanding of post play and overall defense. Works hard to hedge and show off of ball screens and other plays when she’s dragged away from the basket. Also is willing to get on the floor for 50/50 balls. Stays aware and has good overall movement on defense. Offensively, she’s an eager screener and is already a strong rebounder. Watched portions of a couple games, but didn’t see her arguably best game of the weekend. Where she pulled in 19 rebounds. Bright future.

Impressive footwork to go with great size and the power forward position. Let me stress the footwork used to be open for the basket before the pass. Nice shoulder to shoulder moves to seal off for the entry pass from the top of the key. Got skillful hands in the post not fumbling any passes. Showed outside shot if defense sags off any. A monster on the boards grabbing putbacks after putbacks. A freshman to be that will have an impact on her high school program.
