Tenley Walder Tenley Walder 5'9" | SG/SF Jefferson West | 2029 KS has an admirable team-first mindset, she can pick out a mismatch like a needle in a haystack, and can beautifully mirror the movements of her opponents. It’s always so refreshing to see a player who always has her team’s best interest in mind. Tenley kept a very selfless attitude through the match, contributing through communication, effort, and never playing selfishly. Even when she wasn’t landing baskets, Tenley could be seen cheering on her teammates keeping the morale high. She also played out effective screens and would hustle for those rebounds whenever she could.
When Tenley was on the court she was constantly recognizing mismatches, and mirroring movements with near perfection. At a certain point in the match after a defensive switch, Tenley acting as a point guard, noticed that her post player was being guarded by a defensive player who was much smaller than her. Now Tenley could have kept to the original play, but she knew that would not work in this instance. Instead, she immediately fed the ball directly into the post, which resulted in a basket. Tenley also displayed fabulous mirroring abilities, she would match the ball handler’s movements with refined footwork, thus dispelling any chance of penetration.
