Hightower will depart from 5A Division 1 Blythewood as a two-time state champion. She is another that will place her full emphasis on track and field when she heads to the collegiate ranks. Hightower is set to take her talents to Purdue and the Big Ten. This past season would see Hightower sport a Bengals uniform in all 29 contests Blythewood played in. One would think some of the coaches would be impressed with certain aspects of Hightower’s game – particularly the aggressiveness and fearlessness she displays when attacking the rim. Hightower’s scoring prowess is complimented by her talents as a passer, her court vision and her high basketball IQ. She knows how to read a defense regardless of if it is in man-to-man or zone. Hightower averaged 12.4 points, five steals and 3.5 rebounds per contest last season.

Hightower’s 5A Blythewood team departed the Y.C. Winborn Showcase with plenty of business taken care of. The Bengals had already earned victories over Spartanburg and Marvin Ridge. With a 20-point performance, Blythewood closed its time at the Winborn Showcase with an emphatic victory over the Ivanhoe Knights out of Australia. She displayed plenty of accuracy from behind the 3-point line with a grand total of five from behind the arc. She has an overall ability to score at all three levels and adds proficient rebounding, accurate passing and stout defense as part of her complete game.

If recency is a guide, the typical South Carolina high school girls basketball fan may not necessarily think of the Bengals as being a hotbed for the sport. If its youth movement that includes Hightower has its way, that will soon change. Hightower previously participated in grassroots ball with Palmetto 76ers 2026. She is a gifted ball handler who is a natural southpaw. Hightower possesses a midrange jumper and consistently looks to make plays near where the ball is. She understands how to get past defenders to finish at the rim, keeps her hands and arms active as a defender and gets opposing ball handlers at risk to commit a turnover.

Hayley Hightower has a high ceiling. When it is not the jersey of the 5A Bengals she will be wearing, it is that of Palmetto 76ers. She is skilled with her ball handling and will sail past defenders to finish at the rim. Hightower keeps her hands active as a defender and when said hands are applied on an opposing ball carrier, it puts said opponent at high risk of coughing up the rock. Hightower then turns those into transition bucket opportunities. She is a natural southpaw that also has a potent midrange game and consistently looks to make plays around the ball. Hightower will join Blythewood after attending Kelly Mill MS.

Hightower was able to score the ball from all 3 levels today while on the floor. Hayley should see some good time this season for the Lady Bengals.
Hightower a left-handed guard plays aggressive on both ends and really looked to drop some floaters along the way. Hayley was able to finish drives to the cup through contact.
