Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
Smart and disciplined. I'm a consistent three level scorer; however, always looking for the best shot whether it's mine or my teammates. Offensive success to me is being disciplined to know what a good shot is and TAKE it. But more importantly, to be even more disciplined to know when it's NOT a good shot and PASS it. Team First Player. Always willing to sacrifice for the sake of the team.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
High emotional IQ. Don't get rattled easily. Tough mentally, physically and emotionally on the court. Some people may consider me "aloof" since I don't have emotional highs & lows on the court. It doesn't mean I'm not locked-in, committed. It's quite the opposite - I don't let my circumstances (good or bad) dictate my mood.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I work a part-time job at a restaurant on a golf course in Overland Park, KS. I also spend my free time helping my family fix-up and turn-over Johnson Country rental properties as part of their owner/operated residential investment business.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Leadership - teaching younger Aquinas players our culture, have pride in setting high expectations for ourselves and our drills in summer camps, open gyms. Best way to show that leadership is to demonstrate by example. Do it.
Teamwork - We are all in this together and you need to encourage each other and help each other be accountable to our team goals.
Community Service - Devote 24+ hr/year
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
There have been times when I wasn't placed on the club basketball team I wanted to play for. My parents remind me, team placement doesn't make you a better player. What makes you a better player is what you do in practice, in games and outside of those two things that will grow your skills to be better a year from now. Don't make excuses for your plight. Accept it, learn from it, get better.
What type of college are you looking for?
Keeping my options open to all levels.
I'd like to eventually become an orthodontist. What's most important is finding a school that offers a major in pre-dentistry or a like-field (e.g biology, chemistry). I also want to attend a school where I can play basketball and still have enough time to enjoy the "college/university experience".
