I’ve been in attendance for some high profile games this winter, all across the Midwest and one of the best PG’s i’ve seen in action is Liberty’s, Isabella Tafolla Isabella Tafolla 5'7" | PG Iowa City Liberty | 2024 State IA . Tofolla is a quick and efficient Guard, that is very good when she stays in control of her own pace. The best Point Guards out there have the ability to lead their team in pace-of-play and direction, without scoring throughout a contest. They lead by example from the front by their words and more-so their actions. This perfectly describes Tofolla and how she has been playing this winter except she has been scoring at an efficient rate as well. In this Update, she moves up 5 spots into the Top 50. There is still one more Update to follow this one and I’m sure that Tofolla is going to give her case as to why she should continue to rise up these rankings. If she can have a successful end to her regular season, while leading her team to some playoff wins, she will be on the right track.

The best player that I saw on Friday night was Isabella Tafolla Isabella Tafolla 5'7" | PG Iowa City Liberty | 2024 State IA of Liberty High School. Tafolla was firing on all cylinders. She was hitting jump shots from all over, creating with her dribble both in the half court and the full court, and she made important plays throughout the entire ball game. When Tafolla plays in control, she is very good. She has a shifty handle and the knowledge of when to use it offensively, while also having a lightning quick release from behind the three point line. Defensively, she makes a lot of good choices when it comes to the risk/reward side of going for steals or takeaways. She doesn’t get beat often and she if she does, she can make up space to recover in good time. All in all, I was impressed with her performance and very impressed with her overall game.

Isabella Tafolla Isabella Tafolla 5'7" | PG Iowa City Liberty | 2024 State IA comes in as a new addition into the class of 2024 rankings at #54. Tafolla, a 5’8 shooting guard, lives up to her positions name as she can make it rain from deep. Some games she is unconscious from behind the arc, or moreso, from the field in general. She understands how to catch with her hands ready and feet set, itching to let it fly when she gets the chance. Her form and shot are impressive. A player with one of the most pure shot forms out of all classes in Iowa. Defensively, she works hard and plays scrappy. She is always willing to get on her teammates to make sure that they are stepping up and playing every position like it’s their last. This winter at Liberty high school Tafolla is going to have one more season to show off what she can do all over the court. A chance she is going to make the most of.

Shooter who can let it go from deep. Balanced and set shot whenever she lets it go. Seems to be comfortable shooting off of the catch alone compared to around a screen but makes most of the shots she takes in both situations. Type of player defenses don’t want to let her see one go in early in a game or it could be a long night. A lot of promise here.
