Jadyn Petersen Jadyn Petersen 5'8" | CG Dike-New Hartford | 2024 State IA has been a high production type player for her Dike New Hartford High School team over the past few seasons. As of most recent, Petersen and her team are coming off of a 2A State Title from last winter and looking to repeat once again this time around. I would describe Petersen as a player who just gets it done. She isn’t going to kill you with flashy moves but moreso with fundamentals and efficient play. Once she beats her opponent to the lane, she does a great job of playing off of two feet, giving herself the ability to score/pass in a plethora of different ways. Defensively, she is a pesty competitor that sticks onto her matchup, beating them down the floor a majority of the time. Earlier this month I published the 2A High School Preseason Power Rankings and Dike is my favorite to hoist the trophy again this season. If Petersen can take care of her business per usual and the team follows the same blueprint as last year, they will be just fine.

While Dike was on the way to winning another state championship at the 2A level, the Petersen sisters showed why they are such a dynamic duo on the floor together. Jadyn is the guard player out of the two, while Peyton is the post presence but don’t let it fool you, Jadyn was one of the best rebounding guards I got to watch play this season on the varsity floor. This showed all throughout the regular season and into the playoffs. She makes a lot of things happen because of her hustle. She scores a good amount of her points off of rebounding the ball against her opponent while not being afraid to be physical. Jadyn gets a big bump in this players rankings update and will have the chance to rise even more before the end of her high school career. A career is going to go down in the record books over her 4 seasons at Dike-New Hartford high school.

Jadyn Petersen Jadyn Petersen 5'8" | CG Dike-New Hartford | 2024 State IA and Dike-New Hartford won the 2A state title on Saturday evening, capping off a successful season for the Wolverines at 25-1. A big reason for this win was the Petersen sisters. Without these two then this team and program isn’t what it is or where it is today. Payton plays the forward position as she is taller while Jadyn runs the shooting guard/point position for this group. During the entirety of the week Jadyn consistently showed that she was one of the best players on the floor between both teams. She really is a hard worker and it showed on offense. For the most part throughout the week she got a lot of her looks at the hoop off of cuts going to the rim or and grabbing an offensive rebound with a put-back. Her rebounding ability stands out when watching her game. Ironically she is the shorter of the two sisters but plays just as big when it comes to her game style. In the semi-finals matchup Jadyn recorded a triple/double to advance her team to face Central Lyon, who they would eventually beat by 15 to become the champs. This group will have the Petersen sisters returning for one more season next year along with some other key pieces but they will lose some big-production players, so they will need some others to really step up if they want to come back to the Well to defend this year’s title.

Jadyn Petersen Jadyn Petersen 5'8" | CG Dike-New Hartford | 2024 State IA is the other force that teams need to plan for near the hoop when they matchup against the Wolverines. Jadyn is just like Payton in the aspects of that she is an impressive rebounder with a lot of promising skill in this sport. She does a great job of staying aggressive on both sides of the ball without getting into foul trouble on a consistent basis. The two Petersen’s are a problem. If one isn’t killing you in a game then the other is. It is very hard to stop them, all you can hope for is to halt their production a little bit and make sure that no one else on their team steps up to help, like Knock. A task that is easier said than done considering their only loss this year comes to the #1 seed in the class of 1A, Bishop Garrigan.

Jadyn Petersen Jadyn Petersen 5'8" | CG Dike-New Hartford | 2024 State IA has been the 2/3 guard that her Wolverines team needed going into this season in order to compete for a state title. Petersen has been fantastic in the role she was given for her junior season. She has been consistent, efficient, and a player that this team can rely on for a bucket in desperate times. Not to mention that she has excelled at rebounding and passing for her position as well this season. Showing off to everyone watching that she is not just a scorer but a well-rounded and complete player. She is averaging 12.7 PPG, 9.3 RPG, and 3.4 APG, not including the 84 steals she has had up to this point. Like I said above with Payton and I’ll say it again. If this group can keep up what they have been doing all season, they are going to be really hard to stop as we get closer and closer to the state championship game.
