Jones was as efficient as any player at this event. She shot the ball very well from deep and scored several times off of back cuts in Ryle’s half court offense. Jones was also a threat on the fast break scoring in transition multiple times including some tough And One finishes. Jones showed very good athleticism leaping for rebounds and sprinting up and down the floor. She has very quick feet which was evident when she was guarding the ball and did a nice job showing in the passing lanes on defense.

Jaelyn impacted the game in every aspect, using active hands to come up with steals and recording several blocked shots on the defensive end. She did a great job getting her teammates involved, attacked off the bounce with strong drives, and finished well through contact. She also showcased a smooth turnaround jumper on the block and proved she is really good scorer in the painted area.

Jaelyn put up a team-leading 18 points per game for Ryle and was one of the top scorers in the 9th Region last season. She also surpassed the 1,000-point milestone and earned All-NKY Division I Team honors. Jaelyn can put the ball on the deck and attack the rim, finishing effectively with either hand. Her outside shot is pure and consistent, with a clean, repeatable release. Jaelyn rebounds well for a guard, and can impact the game on the defensive end with her ability to guard at the perimeter and block shots inside. Her game will transition smoothly at the college level.

She dropped 19 points, snagged 13 rebounds, dished 4 assists and went 10/12 from the free throw line to help Ryle get their first dub of the season against Madison Southern 56-47. Jaelyn followed that game with 27 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and went 8/8 from the stripe in a loss to Dixie Heights.
