Jaime is a lanky guard who is quick off the floor with her first and second jumps. One of the few girls that could be found boxing out hard from start to finish on Sunday, she used her tremendous length at the guard position to grab multiple boards in traffic, and then start the break for her teammates leading to easy and early scoring opportunities. As her strength and speed improve look her to to be a solid wing player for the next several years.

Following a noteworthy middle school career at Sneed MS, McElveen is poised for a breakout freshman campaign with one of the premier 4A schools in the state in Wilson. Throughout her athletic career, she has also played softball in addition to basketball and joined Palmetto Pressure back in February. Last season’s Squires finished undefeated en route to a championship. Prior to arriving in South Carolina, McElveen played at Heritage Academy and ran with Fly Girls during her spring and summer months of travel basketball. An offensive and defensive playmaker, McElveen joins a Tigers team with second-year coach Ki’Ari Cain that finished 20-5 last season and 10-2 to finish second in its region. 

Jaime McElveen is a long, versatile backcourt prospect with the size and skillset to impact the game in multiple ways. At 5’10, she brings great length for a guard, allowing her to see over defenders, create mismatches, and play comfortably on or off the ball.

Offensively, McElveen shows promise as a scoring guard and playmaker. She can handle the ball, attack gaps, and create opportunities in transition. Her size gives her an advantage when getting downhill, finishing over smaller guards, or making reads when the defense collapses.

Defensively, her length gives her upside as a disruptive guard. She has the tools to pressure the ball, contest shots, and jump passing lanes. As she continues to develop consistency and confidence, her two-way impact can continue to grow.
